He isnt though.. so i'll stand by 'adopted' Anyway my main point was that it seems to me this has been greeted with not too much euphoria in the UK. I guess if you dont have trendy sideburns you cant be popular with the general public! PS Well done the man on the bike :sign15:
We had the last stage on in the background today and one of our friends who is a big fan of the race explained it all to me - what the different shirts mean (I don't mean the yellow one - I'm not that stupid), the team tactics, how exactly the peloton works and the tactics within it. I am now fully converted and just wish I had 'discovered' it earlier than the final day. Shame for Cavendish today but pleased for Froome, despite his enormous forehead.
Froome and Team Sky have won again in pretty convincing style again despite having to run up a mountain and falling off once Generally the Brits did very well. Strange what good management and organisation can do..
In reality a fair point really but the cycling fans won't take it.. Probably why Wiggins (although he wasn't born in Britiain..) and Cavendish are more popular.
He parents and his grandparents were British. He lives in Britain, married a Briton. He thinks of himself as British. But GF doesn't. ;D
My ancestors were vikings but it doesn't make me Scandinavian. Cavendish isn't from the UK either so all his Union Jack waving fans can fck off too.
Froome's about as British as Kevin Pietersen. However, I don't think that's why British fans prefer Wiggins or Cavendish. It's because Chris 'Interesting' Froome is utterly devoid of personality.
Hey, 2017 tour-de-France route has been announced. Happy to know that I’ll be in D*sseldorf, staying for a couple of weeks at my friends’ right in mid summer (https://tranio.com/germany/north_rhine-westphalia/dusseldorf/)!!! Planning to be in the thick of things and see what it looks like. Then three of us will start off cycling across North Rhine Westphalia. :jumping1:
