Great result for Saints albeit against a team 2nd from bottom, but it’s not necessarily easy to take full advantage and boost your goal difference as they did. A bit surprised they aren’t in the play-offs by now, the teams around them must be in good form as well. The good news is how tight the play-off race is: while Yeovil are unexpectedly running away with it, only 6 points separate 2nd and 9th place with Saints having a game in hand on 2nd place Worthing and two other teams, so they must be confident they can beat anyone if they get there. Hopefully they’ll take Oxford City’s place after another bad result for them tonight (seems a real waste of a promotion place after thumping Saints in the play-off final).
My local boys get a point away at worthing tonight ,slough town and watford in the playoffs come end of season happy days
Havant are hybrid full-time - training 3 mornings per week, yet seemed to run out of steam and ideas second half.
Have had some decent seasons recently - I'd totally forgotten they reached the play-offs on three occasions, never mind actually spent a season in the Conference (as I still prefer to call it). Football Club History Database - Havant & Waterlooville (fchd.info) If they do go down (survival is already looking like a miracle) it might not be such a bad thing on the basis of what happened last time they got relegated from this level.
