The Vile Club Narrative

Please drop it, Pozzo and his cohorts are not the club and I hate seeing supporters saying this.

The club is the people working behind the scenes, people in the offices, community liason types, kit men, dinner ladies and academy staff etc. They are not vile, they are the core of the club.

They are just like you and me, they love the club too and most likely want to see the back of Gino and co just as much as what is becoming the majority of fans.

Pozzo will one day leave and the club will remain, he is not the club.

I think you are looking into it too deeply. I “know” someone that works at the club, that is also not happy with the owners.

Fairly confident that those that work at the club also dislike how the club is being run, and don’t take it personally when fans are calling out how turd we’ve been.

Same way Doctor’s and Nurses don’t take it personally when the people call out the shower of shíte government for running the NHS into the ground.

 

Cogs, happy clappers and enablers all. The club is literally rotten to the core. What we need is more hero's at the club such as the Lady who wouldnt let Bassini in the safe.

Joking aside, I agree with your sentiment though I think posters are normally just talking about Pozzo/Duxberry/Bayat when calling the club vile.

In my 44 years of watching my club I have never wanted them to lose a game. That for me would be the point when I stop supporting my club and give up going. As the opening post says, the club isn't Gino's, it's not the current players or the managers, it's the fans. We are not a vile club at all, we just have owners, MD's and one agent we are not keen on. Wanting your own club to fail just makes no sense at all

 

The opening post is a strange take.

Unfortunately the club IS Gino’s. He owns it. And his methods and character and associates over a decade have resulted in the club becoming a nasty seedy unprofessional opaque organisation, which cares not one jot about the supporters. Until he leaves that is what the club is.

The fact there may be some less senior long-standing employees high in integrity doesn’t change anything unfortunately.

• We can't suggest the club has become vile...
• We can't call out the obvious issues with Gino's relationship with Bayat because its not an 'established fact'...
• We shouldn't have a thread called 'Pozzo Out' because some fans with low IQ's think that means fans are calling for the owner to sack himself rather than obvious call for him to sell up...

(Also baffled that a usual suspect has replied first to the opening post talking about fans 'wanting the team to lose' despite the opening post not even saying that - almost as if they want to derail the thread down those ends to make others look bad.)

My first post was clearly very relevant to the opening post about separating hatred for the owner from hatred for the club/team. Why on earth are you so upset and paranoid about thread being “derailed” ??

Calling out your ridiculous posts - as others have done over the last 24hrs - doesn’t make anyone upset or paranoid. Disagreeing with you doesn’t mean people are paranoid or upset.

Your post was clearly trying to instigate a pile-on to the few posters who have said in the past they hope we lose games due to their deep-rooted hatred for what the owner is doing to the club. But you thought you’d kick that off early doors without reason - yet I’m sure you’ll be posting at some point soon about how you hate people endlessly debating blah blah blah.

I think if we are having a discussion around who has spent most of today replying to other people, you’d win by quite a distance so that’s an odd road to go down.

Interesting, I wonder if people would say Newcastle are a great club, they just happen to be owned by a human rights owning regime, or Man City are also a great club, that just happen to be owned by an Oil state and they really hope they get off of their 100+ charges of FFP breaches, because it’s not the clubs fault, or that they hope Everton don’t get another points deduction because they’re a great club and it’s all Moshiri’s fault.

I’d be happy to bet no Watford fan is saying any of the above.

Excellent point. I guess fans are more forgiving of dodgy owners if they happen to bring great success ? Maybe we would be the same if Pozzo was a multi billionaire bank-rolling us to the top half of the prem ? Everton fans are presumably far less forgiving of Moshiri though I doubt many would want to see the team lose or get relegated.
Would be great to have an owner like Knight at BHA who is truly loaded but also a genuine fan. A modern day Elton. None on the horizon sadly.
