Cheap Chardonnay. Which, in California, is not bad at all...

A nice cool refreshing glass of a non-specific brand of a carbonated cola flavour drink.

Was it Tribute by any chance

It was awesome! Especially as it was a lock-in; thus the drinking continued well into the early hours, was after 3am by the time I left to go home.

It wasn't. I would have remembered Tribute as it was the first ale I ever had as a young'un when on holiday down south. Tribute is very nice though.

Got a bottle of Tribute in the fridge :)

On Old Golden Hen at the moment. A bit too fruity for me though.

OK! How about one of these - Proper Job; Trelawny; HSD; Dartmoor or Black Prince?

It was Trelawny. I think it was nice, but I don't really remember :naughty:

I can't be the only one that wants to make an oral sex joke out of this? Surely? I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. This place is going downhill.

it's nice. I'm more or less dry ATM as I might need to drive Mrs Moog to the hospital at any moment and the shandy is 0.9 percent.

Certainly hits the spot, but I'm not sure, in a good way.

I think that those of us with a penchant for ale are so familiar with this excellent beer as to see no humour in the name, whatsoever.

Serious question. If I had an acquaintance in the UK post me some hot cross buns, would customs object and eat them?

I don't know how the US is on food. Most relevant thing, however, is they would be stale. Do they not sell the in Texas? Surely not too hard to make some if not?

I bought some Camp coffee syrup at the weekend. I remember a perennial, sticky bottle in the kitchen cupboard as a child and I always wondered what it tastes like. It's quite nice.

I've carried all sorts in my suitcase, from cereal and peanut butter to ranch dressing. Most packages seem to take 4-5 days so a fresh batch would probably still be good upon arrival. As you say, perhaps the best thing would be to make them myself.

Any tips from the bakers on here would be most appreciated.

I had a banana skin taken from my car when I crossed the border from Canada to Detroit , I don't know how they stand on hot cross buns.

    The following statement may help.

    Bringing Food into the U.S.

    (07/06/2011)
[IMG]We regret that it is necessary to take agricultural items from your baggage. They cannot be brought into the United States because they may carry animal and plant pests and diseases. Restricted items include meats, fruits, vegetables, plants, soil, and products made from animal or plant materials.Agricultural pests and diseases are a threat to U.S. food crops and livestock. Some of these organisms are highly contagious animal diseases that could cause severe economic damage to the livestock industry and losses in production, which would mean increased costs for meat and dairy products. Other pests can affect property values by damaging lawns, ornamental plants, trees, and even homes.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are partners in this effort to protect American agriculture against the introduction of foreign plant and animal pests and diseases at our nation’s ports of entry. USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) develops the policies that determine what agricultural products can come into the country and what products pose a risk and should be kept out. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at ports of entry enforce these agricultural policies. Confiscated items are carefully destroyed in special CBP facilities. Prepared foods are fine, it's just agricultural products we worry about. I wish they'd done a better job in this case: citrus in California threatened by some Chinese bug someone brought in from Mexico.

This really burns me up...I have a beautiful and deliciously productive mature orange tree in the back yard. When the little sons of *****es get here, I'll have to destroy my tree...

When ripe and available, we drink fresh squeezed OJ for breakfast everyday. I have about 2-3 months of free OJ each year, with oddly enough two ripe seasons. One in December and another smaller crop in April.
