Not sure I'd fancy our chances away to Luton on current form! If we're at home we give them a good hiding though.
Official figure was 305 but it seemed more stuck in the middle of it! If only they'd got through! Lootown, bloody Lootown!
Bit more money coming Warrington's way as their match at Gateshead has been chosen for TV by BT Sport on the Sunday.
Could have done with him in goal when Hemel played them. Their keeper pulled off a couple of cracking saves in the first half to keep them in it!
Hartlepool 1-2 Blyth Spartans overshadowed our result a little. But as it was on the Beeb I'm not surprised they tried to big it up so much. Wouldn't mind Blyth at home in the 3rd round!
The FA Cup 3rd Round draw in full below. A few replays to go through. Possibly the first and only time you see us in the draw this season. Can't see us being in the 4th round, but you never know.... No idea if this is copyrighted, but it doesn't say so on the website...
There's a few that stand out. TV games could be: Blyth Spartans v Birmingham Dover v Palace AFC Wimbledon v Liverpool Sunderland v Leeds Accrington/Yeovil v Man Utd No doubt something dull like Everton v West Ham will also be on.
BBC will probably only show a MOTD on the Sunday as none of the Premier league sides will play Saturday.
At a loose end with the Hornets not playing until tomorrow. Just noticed that there are no televised games on today, but 3 tomorrow, one on Monday and one on Tuesday!
Any shocks today - might have seen Gateshead getting something but Pulis will make sure WBA get through whilst Birmingham are a side in form now. Maybe Dover v Palace is the most likely but again the new manager affect might work for Palace.
Blyth threw it away in 5 mins at the start of the second half. Now 2-3. At least Luton are losing 2-0 at Cambridge!
Scum out of the cup. Hoggy sent off for violent conduct for Huddersfield - out for the game against us?
Stuart Pearce out of a job soon? Gutting for Southport and Blyth... Charlton had a guy sent off too (bloke who scored their penalty against us)
Goodness me, Newcastle's fans are pathetic. Barely made a noise apart from when they had a goal disallowed and spent the last 10 minutes booing the kids and reserves that Carver had been told to play. They then whinged about Ashley for a couple of minutes before booing the players that went over to applaud them at fulltime and gesturing wildly for them to leave the pitch quickly. Not a hint of the famous geordie support, or the gallows humour needed when your club is a shambolic, unfunny joke.
A I used to work, ref and play in the North East between '88 and '93 and great institution though Newcastle were, before Keegan and Sir John Hall got going they were down to gates of between 10-13000 under Ossie Ardiles in the McKeag ownership. These people either weren't born then and just don't know or have mighty selective memories. Or delusions of grandeur they want financed by somebody who's made the millions they've not. Massive sense of entitlement not deserved. Many of them jumped on the Glasgow Rangers bandwagon which started to roll about that time under Graham Souness. Nice people but more fickle than you'd realise.
I loved seeing Gateshead smashed. Nothing better than some agricultural upstarts being handed their arse on a plate. Speaking of which is there any known reason Berahino wasn't celebrating?
Luis Figo followed them on Twitter when they went 2-0 up but unfollowed them when they lost. Bad day for the Spartans.
Gayle makes it 3-0 to Palace v Dover, delayed celebrations from Palace fans as I'm sure it wasn't just me who thought it went into the sidenetting!
Newcastle live on the fact they are a one city club with only 3/4 other clubs nears - if they were in Yorkshire or Lancashire they'd probably get a 3rd of the 52k each week. Both the Manchester clubs being held and Wrexham 0-0 at Stoke.
So no non-league clubs into the 4th round this year, after starting this thread way back in the qualifying rounds they have all fallen. Wrexham gave it a good go and hats off to Blyth too. Can't believe that game wasn't on TV and they selected Arsenal v Hull over it, the mind boggles. Money (and amount of fans) counts I guess, which is funny considering all I have heard from the BBC this week is giant-killing this, Hereford that, Sutton this etc etc... double standards.
Fourth Round draw was made this evening. I suppose the highlight is Cambridge United v Man Utd, Luke Chadwick against his former club. This more or less guarantees another live Man U game I suppose. Our conquerors Chelsea get yet another gimme with a home draw once more against Millwall or Bradford City. Not many stand out ties in my opinion, but I think the best apart from the Man U one is Cardiff v Reading, I literally will not be able to sleep with excitement the night before that one. The Fourth Round Proper draw 1 Southampton or Ipswich Town v Crystal Palace 2 Cambridge United v Manchester United 3 Blackburn Rovers v Swansea City 4 Chelsea v Millwall or Bradford City 5 Derby County v S****horpe United or Chesterfield 6 Preston North End v Sheffield United 7 Birmingham City v West Bromwich Albion 8 Aston Villa v AFC Bournemouth 9 Cardiff City v Reading 10 Liverpool v Bolton Wanderers 11 Burnley or Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City 12 Brighton & Hove Albion v Arsenal 13 Rochdale v Stoke City 14 Sunderland v Fulham or Wolverhampton Wanderers 15 Doncaster Rovers or Bristol City v Everton or West Ham United 16 Manchester City v Middlesbrough
Villa vs Bournemouth should be a good one. I think any tie other than Chelsea or Man City would have seen us through and I'd say the same for Bournemouth.
TV games? Cambridge v Man Utd Brighton v Arsenal Rochdale v Stoke Possibly winners of Donny/City & Everton/WHU Maybe Villa v Bournemouth Not sure how many are due for live broadcast in round 4.
