    There's a reason for that.....

Switched off as soon as Drogba's penalty went in. Don't get any satisfaction from the likes of Cole, Terry etc being successful

I can imagine the meeting tomorrow between Abramovich and Di Matteo will be something like this.

"Roberto, thanks for all the cups, now f*** off"

    Yes we can. You're still a c**t.

Probably the luckiest side in CL history, had about a million lifelines but in the end they deserved it. Felt nice to see an English side beat a German side on pens.

Bit of a contradiction in terms that!

I don't understand how Chelsea winning it means Spurs are out. I think the number of positions for each country's league should remain the same, with the winner of the competition qualifying by right as an additional place, whatever happens.

Having said that, it's ridiculous that 4 clubs are entered into a competition with "champions" in the title.

Yes, they should call it "The Top Few League".

I mean over the seasons they've come very close and just missed out when they've often been the better team, seems their luck has been stored up for this one season though :p

Maybe. Still bull**** though. Hopefully Abramovich ****s off now he's achieved what he set out for.

What a classic. Strange that I chose to watch the Chelsea CL games since Di Matteo came in, no idea why I did really, just happened to fancy a game of football when they played Barca, etc. but very glad I did watch. Always like to see an underdog win. Weirdly, I actually quite like a lot of the Chelsea team as well, which makes a change.

He's made his case for the 2 year contract now!

Please for some of the Chelsea players like Cech and Lampard.

Bit jammy I guess but somebody is due some luck against the Germans.

Feel a bit sorry for Spurs...probably be kicked out for some minor team from a country who won't compete at all.

A proud moment when you see two English men hold the European Cup aloft. Let's hope they will be doing something similar in about a month or so.

    Brilliant.

Drogba should just leave now and go out on the ultimate high.

    Chavsea underdogs ?

They are truly a smalltime club. An underdog is a side that is unable to compete on a financial footing with the opposition and has to rely on other factors to compete.

This club played another example of anti football. If that is anything to celebrate then god help us. Keeping the grass long at Stamford Bridge is a perfect example of their pettiness.

And how anyone can cheer a club that has bought sucess, has hordes of plastic fans and bandwagoners is another. Not to mention such wonderful characters like Terry , Drogba and Cole in it.

Clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United earned their sucess from building a club through the work of managers like Busby and Shankley. It's galling to see this club which by rights should be in the third tier of our game buy the trophy.

Nauseating commentary too. English club ? Somehow I doubt the press with their usual impartiality will dare criticize this mob whereas they were quite cheerfully sticking the knife into Greece when they won Euro2004 in exactly the same awful turgid fashion and with huge dollops of luck.

When clubs play like Barcelona with style and artistry that is one thing. This is a horror show. And one will now have to put up with this 'triumph' being recalled for years to come and no doubt even more gloryhunter *****s donning the jersey of that club.

Football well and truly won again today......

Dive out of an aeroplane ? Disgusting footballer. Heynckes shouldn't have called him an actor but a cheat.

Brilliant for whom ? Go and support ****sea.

Keep dreaming. A bunch of overpaid oiks with minimal ability ? No thanks. Surprising given your love of FCB that you would not want to see Spain win it and with style.

Sure they are a great team on form but personally found them boring at times in the last World Cup..and cheating albeit only like everyone else.

OK the Netherlands tried to kick them off the park in the final which was unfortunate.

Messi is the key for Barca...he is the one who turns the tappy football into goals etc.

I'd rather not to be honest, Chelsea are one of the few teams that I really do hate with a passion but they are an English club and have worked hard to get to this point. I'm not so bitter that I would begrudge players like Lampard, Terry, Cole and Drogba winning the ultimate domestic honour. As questionable as people some of them may be as footballers they well and truly deserve this.

Drogba is no more of a cheat than more or less every Barca player or a lot of the Munich players today. It's modern day football and it's not nice but you can't really single Drogba out for criticism when more or less every other player at this level does the same thing to an even worse degree.

Just because Spanish teams play boring ticka tacka football that Sky Sports tell us to worship it doesn't mean that they are in anyway superior to clubs who choose to play a different style.

In fact I'd rather see a team in the mould of Chelsea work with what they've got and play with a small modicum of honesty than the boring displays passed up by the likes of Barca where more or less every player dives around, bite, spit and kick the opposition whilst them and their fans subject black players to consistently disgusting racist abuse.

As for being overpaid; Barca and Real's squads are the two highest paid in world football. I can't be bothered to check but I'd say that Chelsea would probably have just about scraped into the top ten of that list at a push.

    This.

I was supporting chelsea until I realised how plastic their fans are. No-one was wearing a shirt in the pub I attended that was more than 2 years old.

Chanting Nazi chants all throughout the match they just replicated the behaviour that I expect from Terry and made me realise how much I despise players like ashely cole. I'm sad not only that they won (having sat on the back foot the entire game) but for also reminding me that the english side we're about to take to the euros is full of this breed of footballer who is above the general populous and can say and do whatever they want. And these morons lap it up and cheer them on.

Pleased for my old time Chelsea supporting mates and for an English club side to win a European Cup again.. specialy a Southern one.

Judging by the bitter comments above i can see this is not a common view and that the majority of you are too young to understand the true meaning of it. *sigh*

    This.

Some people on here are an absolute joke!! What a game, what a night. It WILL go down in Champo League history as one of the greatest finals ever. Words fail me trying to describe that game.

    Congratulations Chelsea.

EDIT - Also, a lot of you shouldn't take what you read in the Sun or any newspaper you read as the definite truth. I agree Terry is a mug, but it's blown all out of proportion, especially when the likes of certain liverpool centre midfielder has done certain things that nobody can talk about ...

So to educate some of you, here's the other side of John Terry that doesn't get reported. Well worth a read - http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/chel...-another-less-****ish-side-to-john-terry.html

Sorry but that is another commony believed fact in football that isnt correct. Clubs playing in the Champions league play to win the European Cup. What Chelsea were presented with last night is the European cup trophy. I wish UeFa would make more of a point of that.

As for the true meaning of it.. well that is of course a debatable issue* but its still the premier European club competition and even though its format has been chopped and changed, winning it is still of historical significance.

*For the record i would like to see it revert back to being a straight knock out comp for the champions only.
