I'd also add Medvedev had only played ( and lost) to Gasquet in the last two months before arriving at RG.

Trevisan advances and a great comeback story,Gauff beats Stephens.

I'm not his biggest fan but well played Zverev in a fantastic match v Alcaraz.

The small matter of Rafa v ND now!

Alcaraz beaten by Zverev in 4.

Blew the 4th set break when serving for it.

Wasn’t a great one from either player but Zverev will be delighted to get through .

    I disagree.
Brilliant tennis and one error of not going straight at Zverev cost Alcaraz.
Huge pressure playing a tie break at that stage.
Not the greatest opening line from Zverev in the interview, he'll not win many fans for that!

Sorry just meant in the tie break but both did play well generally.

Nor one of the most loved players is he for good reason .

    Come on Novak! :)

    No need to apologise!
I think it speaks volumes for the level of the match that Zverev blinked when serving for it and Alcaraz did on those two occasions when he should have tubed Zverev.

Zverev definitely won that match but as you say he's a bit of a berk like others who can't help themselves...oh look it's Djokovic!

Nadal showing not ill effects from that long game the other day but then this is Paris...

Novak 1st serve % less than 50 was never gonna get him too far against Rafa in Paris. Needed to have served lights out to put some pressure on.

The first serves start to go in and he's fought back in set 2.
    Can he keep it up?

Djokovic threw the chance to take it in to a 5th then?

    Well played to Nadal .

    Remarkable by Rafa.
Can Zverev take advantage of another gruelling match?

    Swiatek and Kasatkina through.
Cilic and Ruble 5 all and Cilic has just had a match point.

Do you like the 10 point final set tie break ?

Think Wimbledon are doing it too .

I do when I win them!
Tremendous if you can play them as Cilic did.
Absurdly good, never seen anyone play one like that. Poor Ruble was distraught.

Trevisan v Gauff, Swiatek v someone who I've temporarily forgotten!
    Kasatkina!

    Routine ladies semis.
Trevisan never got going and Swiatek too good for Kasa.

Just back from a wonderful street party in Winchmore Hill to see Zverev roll his ankle.
    Looks very bad.

    Yes - nasty.

Had to leave on crutches .

Might be out for a while .

    Break or ligaments certainly.
    Sometimes a break is better.
That's him for W and FM you'd think.
The seeding for The Championships will be interesting.

Cilic runs out of gas and Ruud wins in four.
    Can't see him beating Rafa.

Swiatek head and shoulders above the rest of the tour at present.

Ridiculous shot making born out of her 35 consecutive wins.

What a magnificent doubles final and as my first boss just said in commentary, Arevalo and Rojer ( and his funky service motion!) only needed one break point. Dodig and Krajicek had ten!

I've no idea how Arevalo retrieved that Dodig smash. He was nearly in the presidential tribune! All in leggings too!

Well done and what a great day for El Salvador.

Murray loses to Kudla at Surbiton and may play him next week in Stuttgart.
Mladenovic and Garcia reunite after their spat of a few years ago to win the doubles against Pegula and Gauff.

    Ruud being outclassed by Rafa.
Not really a contest since Nadal broke back in the fifth game of the second set.

Rafa is quite simply the best tennis player of all time and a wonderfully classy human being too.

    So so pleased for him.

Best player ever on clay certainly and a lovely chap.
I think Laver is still the greatest, given how many titles he could have won given the years he missed pre open era.Hoad the most dominant.
The post '68 players have much to thank Kramer and the Handsome Eight for.
Likewise the ladies to Billie Jean King and the Virginia Slims tour.

Nadal to have another operation on his foot, nerve endings.
He'll be desperate to play at the All England as the Grand Slam, the proper definition not the modern misunderstanding,is possible.

One GB girl in RG main draw. Won a round.
One in qualies, lost first round.
    No boys in either.
Czech girl won and combined with a compatriot to win the doubles.
Frightening level of Czech female tennis.
    French boy won.

Radecanu retires at 3-4 down v Golubic at Nottingham.
It looked like an abdominal problem.
If this is so it could take six weeks to recover from. She was rolling her serve in during her last service game, before retiring.

I would imagine it would be very difficult.
Can't play next week certainly and then would need to play Eastbourne to have any build up.
Trouble with ab injuries is if you come back too soon you can do substantial damage.
She'll have points to defend too so will have some pressure to play.
    Interesting to see.

As there are no ranking points will she lose any ?

Or is that just the ATP.

Definitely doesn’t want to rush back and do more long term damage of course .
