    Three basic operations are:

    <member_name> liked your post
    <member_name> quoted you in
    <member_bane> mentioned you

    The third one is, as you said, the '@' bump notification. As long as all boxes are ticked you should receive them as and when. As far as I am aware PM's have no limit unless otherwise stated.
