Bachmann's distribution is reasonable, Porteous on the other hand is terrible. On Saturday a few times Bachmann wanted to release the ball quickly only to stop himself as no one made themselves available.
I’ve always said in that situation the ref should give a penalty. Defenders would then soon stop doing it and so it would be obvious if attackers continued to do so, resulting in a free kick.
Even that feels generous, we create next to nothing. Bayo is limited, clearly, but most of the chances he gets are from his work rate and closing down rather than being set up by anyone.
Agreed. If he could finish as well as his build up play he would be one hell of a striker. I have a lot of time for Bayo due to his willingness to keep trying, but he is absolutely one of the most frustrating players' we have ever had. I mean yes Gray was equally as bad but Bayo at least controls a ball (most of the time).
I think Bachman is an alright goalkeeper , much better than we like to make out , good shot stopper and he does like to get the ball out quickly if he can. But his long shots rarely make it to one of our players and often seem to go all the way through to the opposition goal keeper. Agree re Porteous , Hoedt can make great long passes when he tries , normally across the pitch to Ngakia , but doesn’t seem to do it enough.
