This is an important one for Europe as a whole. The extreme far right could end up with the balance of power. It's a crucial showdown between the forces of progress and the forces of reactionary conservatism.

Their equivalent Tories are ahead in the polls but short of the numbers needed to form a government. It seems possible they may unite with the equivalent of our BNP for a coalition. That would be a disaster, but seems the most likely outcome at the moment.

Their Tories say the equivalent old Labour government is weak and relies on the support of the SNP and Plaid Basque. Also there was some **** up with law passing that meant around 100 sex offenders got let out of prison early. Labour! Friend of the pervert! I expect they're saying.

However in the final week, the Tory leader, Alberto "Bert" Nuñez has been caught out doing some barefaced lies about pensions, made some oafish sexist comments about some woman's makeup in a tory stylee and then turned out to be good pals with some narcos.

So all is not lost. There is hope.

Pete Sánchez, the old Labour PM says

"I see a right and a far-right that are absolutely bankrupt. The socialist advance is unstoppable!

All I ask is that we ALL bet on red on Sunday to win the election and guarantee four more years of progress.”

A really weird/chilling is thing the most of the middle-aged (of my generation and many of whom watched Franco's funeral) Spaniards (mainly Basques and Galicians) I know say about the civil war, describing it quite openly as "Unfinished Business"...

A good example of the power of the Spain's (X?)RW the reshape the war's narrative:

Phew! The opinion polls were wrong and the right didn't do nearly as well as expected.

    Results:
    Tories - 136
    Old Labour - 122
BNP - 33 (hahaha down from 52 last time)
    Corbynites - 31
    Scottish Independence Corbynites - 6
Loonies, Sinn Fein, Count Binface etc - 21

The Tories and the BNP are 7 short of being able to form a government.

Pete Sanchez in talks with Gerry Adams, Screaming Lord Sutch and The Benidorm Neighbourhood Watch Independents to see if he can do it.
