There really is the potential, this Saturday and Sunday, for us to see in our area (I'm talking Berks/Bucks/Herts) some of the most snow you've ever seen in this country before. However, I'll believe it when I see it, but the potential is there as I say. If you like snow keep your fingers crossed. There should be heavy snow on Saturday, but as yet Sunday is not 100% if it'll be rain/sleet/snow.

The game on Sat could be abandoned depending on what time the snow arrives! It'll be like Wigan all over again, except with snow this time!

Strange set-up for Saturday, could see anything from 5-9 hours of constant snow (moderate to heavy) within these regions. The match will most likely go ahead but could find ourselves playing in very snowy conditions.

We could well see some light showers friday morning but i doubt it will amount to much at all although Saturday is the day for the heavy snow as ive heard, BBC weather have said up to 25cm locally, the best would be if we had blizzards during the game as i have never been to a match whilst its been snowing heavily althougth it would probly be called off in the middle of the game....:xmascheesy:

Well take a torch , hat , extra jacket , boots , flask of soup , chocolate , spare socks , sleeping bag , shovel , mobile phone fully charged , and a full tank of petrol. Oh, forgot gloves and scarf.

Just in case you get stuck.

I don't think I've seen Watford play in the snow either (or have I....hmm!?). Coldest ever was standing on the terrace at Craven Cottage, on Boxing Day when we lost 5-0 (think it was 2000). Unbearable cold, unbearable result, and then the sight of Carlton Palmer coming over to applaud the fans. Merry Christmas indeed!

What are you basing your forecast on then?

Either the Met Office website, which is streets ahead of the BBC or this website:

Well Netweather also say light snow :xmaswink:

Yeah this is true, but the Met Office website is better than the BBC weather one. Not sure why this is, as the BBC's input is done by the Met Office of course.

As for netweather, you have to look at the forums for the real interesting stuff.

Didn't see the forums, will have butchers in a bit. There's so many sites for weather now and they all seem to vary. I suppose it's ultimately an opinion based on their technology.

    EARLY WARNING

There is a risk of a band of heavy snow moving across parts of England and Wales during Saturday. 5-10 cm of snow is possible, with the possibility of 20-25 cm accumulating in places, particularly across parts of southern England. Anyone with travel plans is advised to keep a close eye on the latest forecast

    Further updates will appear here.

Things don't look as good for hardcore snow this morning as they did a day or two ago, as the low pressure looks like taking more of a track into France now. However this does lock the cold in, and I expect Xmas day will be be cold and frosty! Always a small chance of snow I suppose, but I reckon you'll have more luck up 'tut north.

If you have snow on the ground at the moment, it will be there on Christmas day now. Pretty confident about that!
