New boss Slavisa Jokanovic has admitted it is "a little strange" that he is Watford's fourth head coach in 37 days.

No $hit. Good luck to the guy though, not his fault and deserves our support as much as any of our head coaches.

Not exactly the easiest run of games to start with but seems to have done his research and has the support of the players which is key.

The players are probably fed up with constant change, thankfully Slavisa has had the benefit of an additional week with most of the squad. As long as he doesn't play a formation that is alien to the squad, like we did in the last few games, we should be fine.

Slavisa whoahoah, he comes from Serbia, to a team from suburbia, Slavisa whoahoa - or "he is suburbian, now he lives on the Meriden"

2 wins from his first 7 matches hasn't been a great start.

But in a way he's merely a victim of the total mismanagement of the footballing side of things this season.

Should have started without Abdi we could not afford to not have him and Tozser starting

We were doing ok before the joke turned up with his unheard of formations and dropping our best players.

Was Munari recovering from an injury or something? For Joka's sake, I hope so because that is the only possible excuse for not starting Munari. He should have played 90 minutes today.

I don't disagree but equally when we won so impressively in his first match in charge, he was widely praised for his formation and managing to play Vydra, Deeney and Fessi in the same side.

The trouble is, so far he seems to have peaked in his first match.

I think so far Jokanovic looks a very leftfield and frankly unnecessary appointment for a Championship club. But he's also part of the wider picture which has seen us fatally shirk from getting rid of Sannino in May then pull the trigger 5 games into the season when we were flying, then appoint a coach with a known medical problem, then appoint his Number 2 for 2 games only and then turn to the lower leagues in Spain for a guy with no experiece of our club or our division.

Hardly the recipe for a successful season.

4-4-2 for the first time in years against the league leaders. Great stuff.

It's funny, my friend suggested that the reason the international players were left out was because Jokanovic had been training without them all week and said 'just go with the ones I've been training with'.

A one legged Angella is better than Ekstrand.

    Pointless thread

Better than Beppe - doesn't matter as players hated him
Better than Oscar - who knows as this current side would probably have put him in an early grave
Better than Billy - who knows..he wasn't in charge for long enough to know him

This manager is playing catch up, give him time - and that doesn't mean until Fulham away

Shocking effort today - what's he been doing during the international break apart from smoking crack?
Says he left out Vydra and Munari for tactical reasons.....quite unbelievable.
And as for our defence - it beggars belief how ****e they are - Ekstrand must be the weakest centre-half ever, at one point today Martin shoved him out the way with one hand.

Give him time? He only had to maintain things, not come in and make changes galore. Why mark your stamp if it's not needed?

Nicely put about Sannino; is that all players or just some players who didn't want to play for him?

Ranagie and McGugan were two of the main culprits and they've left. Ekstrand and Dyer being the other two and I couldn't give two ****s if they stayed or not. Pathetic performances by them today.

If nothing else it probably gave Derby futher encouragment hence the performances of both sides in the 1st half.

The fact Bond made three incredible first half saves is enough to convince me that we could easily have been 0-4 down at half time and have had few complaints.

I'm not going over Beppe again - nobody knows the full story but we can piece the jigsaw together including Deeneys tweets. There's a whole thread on it

Maintain things??? We are not the world beaters that you may think they are. He needs to understand their skill sets and the best formations. The team need to gel together. That will take time. It will take longer with another manager change

I'm not suggesting a manager change, but I am saying that I never had much confidence in this appointment and two wins from seven confirms this.

Today's first half performance was very poor. We were so slow, building from the back. There was no energy from us at all. If this is what Jokanovic calls controlled football, then he's not going to be in his job very long.

We did improve in the second, but that's down to the introduction of better players in Vydra and Munari. To not select these two for tactical reasons is very dubious.

It's not good enough to pin all your hopes on one player, but we are only really able to play anything like a controlled game when Abdi is in the team. Without him, you may as well forget it.

You have to play to your strengths, and I think the head coach is trying to play a certain way, because that is the way he believes a team should play, rather than playing a way which will get the best out of the squad he has got. I've seen no sign of Watford being in control, even in games we've won.

We have a squad that many managers would envy. With the talent we have, we should never lose three games on the trot. That is just not good enough.

We still have not beaten a team in the top half of the table. We've only taken 4 points from the 9 top half sides, which is ridiculous. We only seem to be capable of beating poor sides.

Take no comfort that Derby won the game with two wonder strikes, which indeed they did, but Bond had to make 3 amazing saves in the first half. Fessi made a goal saving challenge in the second half and there were numerous other chances that went begging. It's no exaggeration to say they could have scored 5 today.

If we lose the next two, then crazy as it may sound, I think he'll be under extreme pressure to keep his job.

I had my doubts about him since he was appointed. Why we didn't keep McKinlay is beyond me, he seemed to knew what he was doing in them two games, decent line-ups and right subs, apart from the one striker against Brighton, and he had better managerial experience than Slavisa. It may sound like a little and poor thing to criticise, but he doesn't even apologise or praise the fans after a game when they get behind the players all the way. Hoping things change, and if we fail to WIN against Cardiff and Fulham, then he will find himself under pressure, even if it means manager number five, yes those games are tough, but every game in the Championship is.
