Heard on facebook that Ruslip and Eastcote are targets tonight.

Met Police have confirmed that rubber bullets are available for all officers tonight. (I assume they mean all officers trained to use them?)

Mark_work - this is my point about Twitter/Facebook. Rumours like this don't help anybody.

I've just been to the Harlequin and there's groups of kids hanging around talking about the trouble in Watford, despite the fact there isn't any.

But that isn't a good reason to shut twitter/facebook down. There are loads of places that currently have 10x the normal amount of police on the streets as a precaution, but people interpret that to mean that something is expected. If they didn't then spread that by Twitter/Facebook it would be via something else.

I hear sky news have a ticker saying where in London is UNGUARDED. That is ludicrous, but who's asking them to shut Sky down (apart from me :naughty:)

Just got back from the Harliquin and unless the grannies are going to kick off I can't see much trouble tonight. If it does kick off and Next gets damaged I wouldn't be too pissed off...

That's because Sky would love the trouble to continue!

There is aggro kicking off in MK now, a couple of young winkers have tried starting a fire in the Hub and also done some damage at Halfords just up the road from my office. Impressionable kids thinking stuff likes this makes them ‘gangsters’.

    This is an important announcement
The widely reported civil disorder in London and Birmingham is not currently affecting train services on the London Midland network. All stations are open and trains continue to run normally.

    Like Gavin Massey?

I see he's deleted his tweet now :dismay:

Watford Junction still open and running a normal service.

Gavin Massey is an idiot, but he's young, he'll learn.

Very stupid, instantly dozens of morons retweeted.

I just don't understand why people keep tweeting lies, someone must have made them up at the start of the line, what's the point?

Can confirm Costco has been evacuated, Santander and Halifax in the town have shut and a few others have boarded up

    Hopefully precaution more than anything.

Sorry, the shops in Watford Junction station have all been told to close, how do I know this, because I work above it and went down to get a drink. Local businesses have been told to shut up shop too.

Was some in Hackney but nothing more than that I think, most of this is precaution/preperation for the inevitable riots later tonight.

    Supposed? Not a clue

Childish little ***** on twitter keep making rumours up.

The only things that are confirmed are a few banks have closed early, and Richer Sounds has boarded up, oh and the cafes in the town have taken their tables/chairs inside.
