This would be a monumentally stupid waste of money. Despite the angry few, Bachmann is a bog standard Championship keeper for a bog standard Championship team. There are so many other upgrades we need more than goalkeeper. There's no way this could be true... what's that? We had a chance of staying up in the Premier League and blew the majority of our budget on a keeper who we them immediately loaned back and never made a league start for us before we binned him off you say? To be fair, I don't think there's any suggestion we'll pay €10m, that's just his release clause, but when Viktor Johansson and possibly others are right there as viable new #1s/#1.5s, it seems odd to pluck someone out of the blue who might be good but might be ****
Unless we are suddenly flush and are going to overhaul the whole squad, spending even £3-4m on a keeper is a stupid move when we need players pretty much all over the pitch and have a serviceable, albeit not great, option in Bachmann.
The GK department is far down our list of priorities, unless, like SLB said, we have some funds to throw around. Strikers and wingers are desperately needed imho.
