Imagine if it was the other way round, there’d be a war on here about how stupid we are signing a player for £2m when we could have got them for free 6 months ago.

The plan was always to have just the two senior strikers at the club, VI is comfortable with the options he has at his disposal.

 

Having too many strikers about the place was just causing confusion and muddled thinking. There is now greater clarity.

Played most of his football this season centrally, but can play out wide. Given Ince is also supposedly off, he can cover both areas

 

I disagree. He is only good if you put decent balls in the box.

 

I’d knock a £100k off just to stop him from playing that day. Make it a clause in the deal because we know what’s going to happen!

 

Joking aside, I think a law was changed to prevent blocking games. In our promotion season under Betty I recall Clarke Carlisle and Matty Spring were signed from Leeds but not allowed to play against them in at least one of the games.

 

I don't think there's anything really to stop these 'gentlemen's agreements' as long as you stay quiet about it, although of course, Huddersfield will have absolutely zero motivation to adhere to such a 'deal' given their current state!

 

Given his form, maybe we should be insisting they DO play him against us ?

 

Hearing the final snag to get over in this deal is that we are demanding he starts against us, whereas they are demanding he comes off the bench
