Why have football shirts regressed to mirroring the abominations of the 90s?

No idea, but you do have a point. It generally effects the away kits rather than the home obviously. Man Utd have had some awful ones in the past. That dreadful one they wore at the Dell when the famously lost 6-3 to Southampton and changed kits at half time, to the one they wore at the Vic last time we played them that looked like pink PJ's. :p

Just seen the insanity of the red card for Tomiyasu for Arsenal last night. I have no issue with Arsenal receiving a bit of pain from a clear injustice, but it just further emphasises what everyone already knows, these referees are just not up to it. This time it's David Coote, booking Tomiyasu for timewasting, when he only held onto the ball for 8 seconds for a throw in. Havertz held it from 15 seconds previously without punishment. The second yellow was a soft foul at best, but never a yellow card in a million years. The officials are so inconsistent, even with themselves during the same game. I would say, it's probably one of the softest red cards I've ever seen. Just another referee who wants to make it all about himself by being controversial to get in the spotlight.

Hang on, that doesn't fit in with the big clubs getting all the decisions.

Same for Liverpool at the weekend or Man U v Spurts..

The player booked probably just was unlucky he got the yellow there as a few could have done .

The ref maybe thought there was a pull in real time and unfortunately VAR cannot help although who knows if it would have done !

Time wasting is a team effort. Tomayasu was clearly complicit in it. No issue with booking both he and Havertz in that scenario. And with the goal kick before it was clear Arteta made a clear decision to start cheating.

    Agree on 2nd yellow though.

I believe basketball has the concept of ‘team fouls’ whereby the cumulative effect of fouls by different players count against the team as a whole, leading to free throws. You see this applied unofficially sometimes in football (depending on the ref), either for time wasting or fouls by several different players. It is then the nth player who gets the booking or even a red card.

Just seen the new raft of appalling adverts for the PL for TNT and Sky Sports. Nauseating.

In Canada you can watch all the games and most European leagues if you want to on a streaming site for £15 a month. Fubotv. As usual with Treasure Island the companies are milking consumers dry. No wonder subscriber numbers are plummeting.

Next week the Premier League makes its first ever visit to The Kennel!

Home games have been postponed whilst league officials replace and chain down the VAR equipment (which has been stolen several times) and ground improvements are completed.

    Those Ground Improvements in Full

    1. All corrugated iron freshly repainted in eyeball-searing Easyjet orange

    2. Barbed wire painted in contrasting blue and white stripes.

    3. Yaxley-Lennon Executive Lounge and Tea Room opened.

    4. Tinsel and flashing fairy lights fitted to interior of all pitchside conservatories.

    5. Mock Grecian plaster and styrofoam pillars fitted either side of house side alley stadium entrance.

Luton have yet to show anything to suggest they are even remotely a premier league team based on that first half. Chelsea weren't particularly good (especially that number 15 up front) but all Luton have going for them is their physicality.

Played 2 lost 2. Scored 1 conceded eight. Long may it continue as well. If they break Derby's record for the lowest points haul then that would be some feat. Still a long way to go though.

It's not surprising - they have given away 46 shots (20 on goal) in their first two games. Ok Brighton are a good side, but Chelsea were no great shakes. If they keep giving away that amount of chances every couple of games they will concede a bucket load this season.

They have a run of Burnley, wolves, everton, west ham and fulham coming up so unfortunately they might get something out of those.

I know it’s unlikely, but if ever a team was going to go through a Premier League season without winning a game, it’ll be Call me Rob and his merry band of absolute chancers.

90% of people I know are scummers, watched tonight’s game in a pub full of them, bunch of deluded fools. Thought scoreline flattered Chelsea, ref was utterly against them blah blah blah, they had a 5 minute spell where they should’ve scored, didn’t, we all know the script. They’re rock bottom now, be surprised if they ever leave it to be honest, they looked utterly useless.

Conceded seven. Most of them in the last 20 minutes when they've run out of steam chasing shadows. A few more defeats should see them thoroughly demoralised.
