Chelsea want to sign both Caicedo and Laviva.

They must just be stockpiling for when they get a transfer ban for FFP breaches ?

So again I have placed Arsenal to win the Premier League. They say madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. Its going to be City again isn’t it? (As an aside my other three champions in the bet are Leicester, Barnsley and Mansfield. Another £1 wasted).

The fun is predicting the three relegation teams. I doubt last years situation with all three promoted teams surviving will be repeated. I wonder if there is value in predicting that all three promoted teams get relegated this year?

    I don't think Burnley will.
About time Everton did and Wolves and Palace may struggle, especially as the keeper is on strike.
I assume they have another though!

Probably unlikely but would just be Kane's career if somehow Bayern didn't win the league this season!

Who will Spurs waste the money on this time...

Keep an eye on those new players, because in a couple of years they'll be with us...

    Defenders.

They have that Argentinian youngster and will persist with Crisp Boy you'd think?

They don’t have a chance. Wouldn’t be surprised if they miss out on the top 4 after last seasons disappointment. Citeh, MU, Chelsea and Newcastle/Liverpool for top 4.

TBF, I can see O’Hara’s point re: Billericay.

Arsenal well in control. To be fair it's not the hardest of opening games.

Can't decide whether it will great watching MoTD now, watching L*ton regularly thrashed, or just a dreadful reminder that they are actually in the prem.

Brighton are going to be right up there again this season. Would of been perfect had Pedro scored his chance early on. Luton already look like the new whipping boys of the PL. Cannot really judge Burnley's loss to City to much as that was a very tough first game back for them. Everton losing on day one is not a good sign for them either.

    That would be nice

Although they’ve bought him for less than we sold him, so probably not

Slightly off topic but it's not going to plan for Kane.

If he thought he could arrive and pick up a cup tonight he was sorely,at least at present, mistaken.

RB Leipzig have the wings at half time.

It's the German equivalent of the Community Shield. Yes, a trophy of sorts but not a real one. A bit like Haaland being a complete no-show two Community Shields running – it probably doesn't mean all that much.

Mind you, would still have been the biggest trophy Kane's won.

Apparently Luton got a very soft penalty for and against them ?

The PL has made Edwards go horse !

Didn’t Leipzig hammer Munich last season too .

Maybe Bayern won’t have it all their own way ?

I mean Dortmund messed up the league on the final day too.

JP was fouled but it will surprise no one here to learn he fell as if shot and dragged Location, Location, Location ontop of him. Very soft.

The Drunk penalty was absurd. Cross came in and it hit Drunk's arm that was behind his body. Short of instantaneously becoming the Black Knight he could not avoid the ball. The baying orange hordes behind the goal probably influenced matters.
They choked on the last day good and proper!

That penalty to L*ton is one of the most ridiculous I have ever seen. To then have it confirmed by VAR just goes to show what a complete joke the whole process is. Even the referee in the sky studio said it clearly shouldn’t have been a pen.

Does the defender get an assist for the third goal? I know Brighton are decent but some of their defending was League 1 level

Yes very encouraging. They were cut to pieces at the back. Was it 3 times that BHA hit the woodwork ? Plus that Pedro miss. It could and should have been 7 or 8.

I haven't watched MOTD for years, not least because of that ghastly little tic Lineker.

I made an effort on Saturday and Shearer made the point that BHA could/should have had 7 or 8 and that L*t*n would have to improve dramatically.
