Presume nothing to stop the mods/staff/owner emailing the club and asking to be able to join the club and send representatives to the next meeting ? It is very odd to see plenty of groups I’ve never heard of included but no rep from this forum. Perhaps they were concerned that some of the more vocal members on here would disrupt any discussion and turn it into a shouting match ? Had they heard how even “anti Pozzo monster Nath” becomes a loveable little puppy as soon as a microphone is placed under his nose they wouldn’t have worried.
The people involved are not necessarily wrong, it’s just not everyone. But if anyone wants to go along, take the club at its word and ask if WFC Forums can have a representative. If they say ‘no’ then your worst fears are realised and vice versa. So COGs and Bedwetters nominate yourselves or each other and if there are multiple candidates it can go to a vote. And no, I’m not ***qin going if you paid me.
We've joked about it, and I'd probably do it, but I'm very busy with a new job, multiple alias accounts and a family, plus I don't even give enough of a **** about this incarnation of watford to discuss it with people irl.

It’s fine. They could just choose to not print that part and get their lapdogs to deny it happened or gag them from admitting it. It’s basically what they’re doing anyway.
Maybe, but there’s no reason why people can’t organise it. If the mods want to ask, that would be good, but if they don’t WFC Forums can still have reps from its disparate and warring factions.
I think the club could even turn it to their advantage. "Ah, Mr Nath of WFC Forums you say? Welcome! Please help yourself to a pre-poured drink on the bar over there. What do you mean why are the Forums drinks on the opposite side to the other committee members' and foaming from the top? No reason at all..."

I don't think it's a mendacious move on the club's part unlike some posters on here. Whilst it's good to have some level of communication with the fans, I don't think ultimately it will change a lot. The club will more or less state what direction the club is going in and will ask for feedback on club operations/ match day operations. Perhaps ideas on matters such as what the club can do to be more inclusive for all members of society will be discussed and how to make the Vic have a better atmosphere. These are positive things but I don't think it will make much of a difference. Perhaps an empty gesture. If I was on the committee though, I'd ask who has in charge of the transfer policy for the last 4 years. My follow up question to that would be to ask if they suffered a brain injury or where they just thick because it's on then why we are in this mess.

Just seen that Duxbury has published a follow up piece on the official site trying to dampen down the bad feeling about this I think his follow up ‘explanation’ makes it sound even worse. Either be as open as you can be with everyone or keep all the details in house, picking a select group to share details with but preventing them from sharing those details any further than that room is just an awful compromise with breeds division, sycophancy and hierarchy. Even by their recent standards I’m shocked at how inept this latest PR move is and the timing is both bizarre and a massive distraction

That's two articles now on the club's website saying they've had very frank conversations with this new group and no detail whatsoever about the topics covered, even at a high level. It's not a good start but fully expected.
I'd be amazed if any CEO and owner can be genuinely open with their thoughts, plans and strategy even with a chosen select audience sworn to secrecy. Yes they could provide a bit more detail behind the financial statements numbers but it's not as though they are going to be able to talk candidly about transfer strategy, what they'd sell Sarr for, who they are planning to replace etc, planned structural changes in the club. Most official club announcements will be marketing dept led as with any other club and I'm sure these fan briefings will be 90% the same, as with any club.
It's more that the club might be more willing to engage if it was one of the mods of the board proposing it.
I’m stunned at the shock and toxicity about this. If you don’t think it’s been like this for a while, then I have a bridge to sell you. It’s just a stamp of approval and confirmation of what some have said for months and months regarding the likes of Ucko, Roy Moore and FTRE. You only have to look at the tone deaf ‘get behind the lads’ nonsense this morning to see that. Now we have confidential meetings and NDA’s. It was the natural next step. I’m just amazed they announced it at all. ‘It’s not a closed shop!’ says Duxbury in the same statement that he references the fact that the meetings are confidential and that they’ll decide what information is released. If it’s about social media reach, was @LouOrns asked? He has a legitimate 10k following, higher than Moore, Ucko and most of the others on the list. But he’s very critical of the club so I’m going to assume he wasn’t until he says otherwise. To be honest, the club has been running on fumes for quite sometime. This transition to full blown corpse has been due. I’m going today but genuinely can’t be bothered. I can’t really see a time when I will want to spend money on them next. And now we have a group, who we’re expected to believe that a man who calls himself an ‘absolute mentalist’ (who is gifted a commercial area by the club) and another that dresses as a banana at games are going to ask the hard hitting questions about the future of the club and speak for me? Nah, not for me mate.
I doubt they’d be bothered if it was a mod or a standard user to be honest. Now if it was the forum owner, it might be different - and we are told that person is a regular contributor?
I hope @LouOrns won’t mind me sharing this but can’t see why he would - he was asked to share some questions. But was never invited to the actual event - and furthermore, another group were excluded from an invite as it was deemed they were close to Lou.
At least he has now been open about one thing - his disdain for Fan Forum’s. I mean, he perfectly displayed that attitude at the actual events but at least he’s now matched that with words.
I was asked to pose 3 questions as people who were there were “allowed” to pick people who weren’t at the event, or should I say invited. But I don’t know if this is definitely true or not — but supposedly wasn’t invited due to ‘recent interview’ with the club and a process that hasn’t been completed yet, as well as another set of people not invited due to having a connection to me. It’s all a cop out, but I have managed to find out one thing — Gino is actively looking for further investment. That’s all I’ve managed to get
It would be extraordinary if none of the people invited posted here, so maybe they would like to let us know a bit more about it? It is sometimes ok to have behind closed doors conversations, if the intention is to allow anyone to air absolutely anything. If so, then the invite should be wider and the club should certainly have approached the mods here. There is no rival forum of any note now, though of course many prefer Facetwat and *******. I'm going today because my daughter's mates are going and she wants to see them. Hopefully we'll be 2 down after 20 min so I can go home and mow the lawn.
