PETITION - Help Force Karl Oyston's Resignation

Karl Oyston is obviously abusive and a nasty piece of work like his father. Just be even more abusive back with thousands of voices until he can't take any more. A minority owner calling for a petition from the fans and fans of other clubs against the Chairman and son of the majority owner is frankly a bizarre way to try and effect change.

I think we can all follow! All I'm asking is:

    1. Is it other clubs' problem?

    2. Isn't a petition like this a bit pathetic given the sort of people the Oystons are (as illustrated in your clip) and given KO's abuse?

And suggesting the Blackpool fans go about solving their problem in an entirely different way. I agree with both you and seasidegirl about the issue. Just not the methodology.

A Happy New Year to you both.

Do you hold that basis for everything in life? That is, if it is not your problem just ignore it?

A bit pathetic it may be, but for sure it is better to do something, even if it is the wrong thing, than to do nothing.

Jesus! I would have thought that I've illustrated on any number of occasions that I'm not a do nothing kind of guy at all! And I've gone to great lengths on this thread (twice) to suggest to a Blackpool fan what their fans might do about their problem. You might not like that advice. You might think it's confrontational. It is. But they're dealing with a confrontational family who have owned their club for 27 years. 27 effing years! What have their fans been doing all that time (including when the owner was in gaol for rape for 3.5 years!)? So on this occasion it is a LOCAL issue yes. And no. It's not best to do something/anything even though it's the wrong thing. It's best to think about it first. And if loads of other clubs' fans go signing this thing don't think the Oystons won't be aware of that and point out that many of the signatures on the petition don't have anything to do with the club at all.

Show me a petition to remove Richard Scudamore as Chief Exec. of the Premier League and I'll forge signatures for you though.

I think the point was made by Daib that there are some things which transcend club loyalties, I just don't think this is one of them. Barnet being hounded out of their borough by an obstructive council is one example of another club's problems which I had sympathy with. I'm actually more sympathetic to L***n's seemingly over harsh points deductions, compared with similar offences dealt with more mildly, than I am with this.

As has been clearly pointed out time and again on this thread, we were recently very nearly run to the ground by our owner and didn't receive one iota of sympathy or support from the wider football 'community' so this issue here is clearly something which we can watch with popcorn and a giant coke and think 'glad it ain't us this time.'

There is no affinity or rivalry with Blackpool. In fact, they are one club that we have so little to do with that if they actually ceased to exist, I probably wouldn't notice.

There is also something a bit hypocritical about this petition. The outrage about the offensive terms used is not the issue which Blackpool fans are bothered about, but they are trying to use that as flimsy leverage for their real agenda, which is that the club aren't being as successful as they want them to be.

Yes we've been rude about them on here, but that's football. It would worse from the terraces if we could find a suitable tune, meter and rhyming pattern for the notion that the oystons are raping their club. Frankly, if any fan expected more sensitive reaction, they should post on the WI forum instead.

In fairness though, I don't think we actually went looking for any sympathy and support like these guys are. Or did we?

Essentially there isn't much here I disagree with (although how close we actually were to being run to the ground under Bas is just speculation hence might explain why we never reached out for other clubs' help). I don't much care for the I'm all right Jack stance though, in fact there but for the grace of god should be more, not less of a reason to help even in a small, probably pointless way, of signing their petition. You might be right about the hypocrisy of the petition, but then if Bas took us took us to the Premier League, with every thing else being equal, we would look more favourable upon him than he otherwise deserved. I do find the reasons for not signing somewhat hypocritical too as many of them are far from genuine...imo

  13. Always 2 sides to every story

Either Oyston 1. wants to sell the club but no one is coming up with his evaluation, or wants to keep the club because 2. he loves it/believes he is doing the right thing, or 3. thinks there is more money to be made from it

Seriously doubt 3. makes any sense as they drift slowly back into lower league obscurity and the Prem money long gone

Therefore either the supporters need to 1. whip round and buy the club (put up or shut up) or 2. resolve grievances and try working with the guy instead of *****ing

Still don't see what it has to do with us...

To be fair you'll sign the petition just because someone else tells you to do it.

Brilliant thread lads, no other forum has gone into so much depth as you. I don't think "coming in peace" stuff works well now, you get tired of seeing that, but respect is important and I've tried not to wind any of you up.

Anyway call it sort of a truce now, because after mid-day I probably won't be in a fit state to answer! I'll be on in a few days with the 'Premier League Positions Game' update.

All the best to you lads for a great 2015, and it looks like it may well be ...

Enjoy. I admire your efforts on behalf of others even if I disagreed with you on this occasion. Nothing wrong with being collectively pro-active or coming on other club's forums and speaking your mind either. As far as I'm concerned you're welcome anytime as is seasidegirl.

    Have a great 2015.

Have you tried booing at home matches?

We do it all the time and how have a team in the play-offs who are financially stable. If we boo a bit more, I reckon we'll go up too.

    Hi! Back again!!

Latest - taken from a Blackpool fan forum. You won't believe this mates! Desperate stuff ...

"Up to now most fans threatened with legal action regarding comments made on this forum and other forms of social media have only received letters of pre action . As you may have recently read on other posts one of our fellow posters has now received documents from the Oystons' solicitors which require him to fill in earnings and assets to be presented to the courts as well as a request to submit his defence . They have also paid the court fees for £610 to take the poster concerned to the High Court in Manchester with a claim lodged for up to £50,000 each for John Owen Oyston, Karl Samuel Oyston and Blackpool Football Club Limited .One of the ludicrous claims the solicitors have made is that the comments made by this fan have, amongst other claims for damages, hit this years season ticket sales.

Our request for help is for anyone reading this message board who didn't renew this season, e-mails on the following address a quick resume as to why they didn't renew. Possible reasons may include a lack of investment over the past few seasons, being treated with contempt by the present owners, having only 8 players up to a week before the season started, pre season training tour cancelled etc etc etc.

This in effect will show any judge preciding that to make a claim for these damages is ridiculous to say the least.

Many thanks for your time and if any other fans have received a summons that we don't know about that these emails may also help please let us know on the below email address."

Any judge with half a brain will throw that out of court. The Oystons should be taking their solicitors to court, for allowing such petty action to go as far as it has.

Still not convinced to sign the petition mind.

I think I'm correct in saying that one of our former owners, Laurence Bassini, tried to take this whole forum to court because of libel.

    Did you sign our petition?

we are always getting half a story. What did this person say to prompt such a response? We're always assured it was just harmless and measured criticism by the poor fan, whether it's a text or a forum post.

For some of the stuff I've said on here, I could still technically be executed for treason.

No, I didn't because it didn't come my way and I wasn't onboard with that petition. But I DID get quite involved with the Al Bangura petition for you all - 2006 or 2007 wasn't it? - and moved it on a lot of the BBC 606 boards. Really pumped it up as I felt strongly about it at the time... so it's not just because I've got Blackpool friends!

Relating a young man's possible deportation to fans disliking owners is a little extreme, is it not?

Yep, of course, but I wasn't comparing the two at all, I was responding to "I think I'm correct in saying that one of our former owners, Laurence Bassini, tried to take this whole forum to court because of libel. Did you sign our petition?" As previously said I'm a Reading fan, but my inter-forum games roles mean that some fans of some other clubs do ask me to give a helping hand from time to time. I don't get anything out of it personally, and I've too many things in life on my plates to think of being on a glory trip ...

I've signed it, but on matters totally unrelated to football. Couldn't give a toss about Blackpool FC.

But I detest sex cases, Blackpool was KO's fathers plaything for years, then the scum was jailed, for years of drugging and raping young girls at parties him and his cronies regularly held, the Oyston family rallied round, closed ranks and took over the Chairmanship of the football club which eventually passed to KO. Owen Oyston is still the majority shareholder and a director of Blackpool, KO is just a puppet Chairman, as Daddy wouldn't pass a fit and proper hearing with the Football authorities.

So for me, apart from wishing a horrible painful death on his Dad, I hope he gets his just desserts, as his wealth and status all comes from the bank account of a vile serial rapist.
