Classic Derby.

 

To be fair how many times did we change coach last season

 

Pearson has to be on the short list ?

 

Fair enough to sack him given the investment but the chairman has made himself look like a moron with that statement.

 

But we had a good squad with the extra added motivation bonus of the majority of the players making last season their last with us if we still didn't go up (I said that in a really convoluted way but essentially IIRC Deeney said how players like him and Abdi would've left if we didn't go up last year so they wanted to give it their all for us to go up). The mood at Derby seems to be different and almost like the mood in our camp in the 13/14 season- poisonous. I predicted them to go up this year in the same way that we went up 2 years after the play-off final misery (this season would be Derby's second after that, no real logic behind it) and they could still do that if they get a good manager/head coach.

Wouldn't be too surprised if they end up landing Pearson

 

Seems a ridiculous decision if it was driven by results. He's doing quite well for the most part.

Of course it could easily have been something else, as we know only too well.

 

Some "behind the scenes" stuff, although if you've managed to keep track of the Champ then you'll know this (and I praise you because it's been a heroic effort for me), but it seems to be player power. Some of the players weren't too happy in being left out of certain games and there's an air that Clement has his players

 

Looks like the owner didnt want a repeat of last season, strange decision to be honest must of been rumours that he had lost the respect of the players filtering upstairs maybe.

 

and in sacking Clement, they have pretty much repeated last season...there's irony for you

 

Did they sack the wally with the brolly then? I cant remember to be honest.

 

Robbie Savage made an interesting point recently (no, really). He said that players who's deserve to be in the team in merit aren't getting a look in because the big money players seem to start every game despite poor form. Take Jeff Hendrick for example, who was excellent for Derby for a number of years but barely gets a look in because of Butterfield, Johnson et al.

I think Clement has been compelled by the Club's ownership to play the new signings, and that's led to tension in the squad, understandably.

 

Pretty sure Maclaren went after the season finished and they missed out on the play offs, I can totally understand them getting rid of a manager if they think the person they want is suddenly available and want to get him before he is snapped up but sacking him when they in a good position to at least get a play off place and then see what happens at the close of the season. All I can think of is if rogers, moyes, or Pearson has give them the heads up. Can't think of anyone else but there maybe others, Maybe Malky,

 

The Championship has bored me a bit this year, so I'm glad it's all decided to go mental just before the run in.

The nonsense at Middlesbrough as well has played into the hands of Burnley who now look like coming back up as champions.

 

Who else would think of changing their manager whilst in second place eh

The rumour was that Clement was 'having it off' with recently appointed club captain Chris Martin. (who had be dropped for the majority of the season)
