That poll is irrelevant when Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool are in the top 5. Arguably the worst kits of all of them
Liverpool fans love a poll. I actually think the full Utd kit is pretty smart, even though the shirt on its own is a bit strange. Arsenal, Palace and Spurs are the three shockers there imo.
The United shirt is the same as our puma one from our first season back in the PL. About 95% of the design is exactly the same.
I have to say I actually really like the home kit now. Would still look much better with yellow socks, but I'd say it's the best kit we've had as a Premier League club. It's different, but there's something classy about it. Away kit will be interesting to see in the flesh.
That Arsenal kit is truly awful. Given that most of the sky poll is along supporter base lines, our kit is very popular.
Call me an old git (you’re an old git) but I wish we could go back to using a ‘change kit’ instead of an ‘away kit’. We should be proud of our club colours and wear them at every opportunity, only changing if there is a clash.
I'll no doubt be run out of here for saying it but i think Palace have had some of the nicest kits in recent years. The new one is too elaborate but their away kit is great. Btw on the plain back of shirt debate. I found a small article on Historical kits and i quote.. The Mysterious Case of the Missing Stripes Supporters of teams who play in striped tops and are supplied by Adidas are wondering why the back of their new shirts are plain and several have asked if this is a new EFL rule. In fact it is the result of a policy decision by Adidas whose spokesperson made this statement after the launch of the new Sheffield United kit had attracted negative comments on social media."Our current design direction for the upcoming season sees us providing a plain reverse shirt treatment for Sheffield United, and our other partner clubs, who have stripes within their identity. In combination with more tailored and bespoke detailing throughout the kit we believe this will allow us to create more standout designs for our clubs in the UK and we're looking forward to seeing the shirts on pitch in 2018/19." So you see the stripes are not "missing" but undergoing "plain reverse shirt treatment" as a result of "design direction," so that's all good.
Does anyone else think that the Liverpool mainly grey away kit looks like pyjamas? Up close the details look fine but from a distance it looks odd. Grey never seems to work for footie kits - either dull or odd.
3rd kit i believe. The long sleeve version looks even more like PJs.. https://store.liverpoolfc.com/lfc-mens-long-sleeve-third-shirt-18-19/ If anyone's interested Historical kits are always pretty up to date with kit releases.. which they past short judgment on.. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/English_Football_League/season/2018-2019/premier-league.html
That website is pretty cool. One thing that does interest me though, is whether or not our "turquoise" shirts in the 1930's have ever been verified?
There's mention of that in the badge/crest section at the bottom of our page.. and i quote.. "In the early 1930s Watford's colours were registered as turquoise and white, a unique combination. As all records of the period have been destroyed, this has yet to be corroborated. Graham Brack recalls reading an account by a former player who made his debut in 1936 and who mentioned that this unique colour was adopted in an attempt to avoid the expense of having to buy a set of change shirts. Eye witness accounts confirm that the team certainly played in conventional blue in post-war years even though many publications continued to describe their colours as turquoise and white" I always wondered how they could verify the colours of the kits from the days before tv or colour photography and i guess this gives the answer. Club records and eyewitness accounts. I doubt there's much of the latter for the 1890's mind! Here's a team pic from 1928 showing the light colored shirts. Could be turquoise.. or any other colour apart from black or white! Front row wearing the changed strip which is obviously white. Some with badges.. some not.
The strange thing there Stevohorn is the darker shirts don't seem to have anyone with a badge but the white shirts have some. You'd think they'd sew the badge on the main kit before the change strip.
Yes they also mentioned that on the Historical kits page. In fact we didnt have a badge on our home kit until 1959.. and then dropped it between 1962 and 1968. They did some odd things back in the days.
Yes that's the one. One of the view grey kits to carry it off I thought. A kind of light battleship grey.
Well that's the line (marketing ********) that Adidas are giving it. I guess the point is that it's not a league directive, as a lot of people are supposing. PS One thing they do with striped shirts is to put the number in a sold box on the back. That way it does stand out.
Or photo editors I guess this is the bloke front left who i thought looked like he had a modern day hairstyle. Is he wearing an alice band?
Third best kit according to the Independent...but then they do have the Man Utd pink away kit as first out of the 51 kits. Our green away makes 23rd best. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...ntied-arsenal-ranked-best-watch-a8480441.html
I like it and I have been wanting this style for sometime, I'm glad they took notice of my suggestion in the end
I hated it in the photos but seeing it on the players today...it looked absolutely glorious. My favourite kit in ages, I think its the shade of yellow that makes it look so magnificent. I might even buy one when the prices get slashed later in the season.
