Anyone else watching this? Rosol is ranked 100 in the world, playing only his second EVER professional grass tournament and is absolutely taking Nadal apart in the fifth at the moment. The winners this guy is hitting are out of this world, so much power and accuracy.
Yes I am watching it fairplay to the lad I hope he can hold serve in the next game will be one of the biggest shocks of all time at Wimbledon.
That was amazing. What an upset. Just doesn't happen. Good for Murray. Can't see Rosol repeating that performance. Can you?
Just caught the end after watching the footie...never gave Nadal a chance! I thought maybe Rosol was some sort of young wonderkid breaking through but the guy is actually 26 (jouneryman player?) so its even more of a surprise. No doubt the press will now expect Murray to reach the final but on that form this guy will beat anyone.
Even if Murray does make the final, he still won't win it, he's still nowhere near Federer or Djokovic, they would both beat him in the final.
Great victory, still don't think this changes anything for Murray. For me he simply isn't good enough to win a GS
A conspiracy theorist might say that Nadal lost to pave the way for a Brit to win Wimbledon in Jubilee year (remember 1977 - Virginia Wade) and out early to go to the Euro final to support Spain.
I don't agree. Djoko is clearly still the man to beat, but Murray has shown himself capable of beating any of the top 3. His failing has been that he's never quite been able to beat 2 of them back to back to win a tournament. Cilic or Tsonga won't beat Murray. He'll either lose to Djokovic or win Wimbledon.
I want Murray to win it and this is his best chance yet to reach the final... However, I have a sneaking regard for Tsonga. Very decent player..like Murray, he has been getting ever closer to the final too..Semi Finallist last year, Quarters the year before. And what a story it'd be too..he almost pulled out of the tournament after injuring himself at Queens. A Murrav Tsonga semi final would be mouthwatering! Watch out for Raonic too in Murray's section...
Wow...I didn't know Nadal went out last night....didn't even know they played that late. I've not even heard of Rosol either. Murray has a lot of hard matches though. He had a tough match against Karlovic and they don't get any easier, but of course Nadal going out gives everyone a lift on that side of the draw. As you rightly point out Tsonga is a very good player, and I say Murray still has it all to do to get to the final.
Federer drives me f**king insane, love the man but what a bottle job he's become, no fight and doesn't look interested when it's not going his way. The lack of intensity in his play today is embarrassing.
