Match day squad virtually full strength, apart from TDB and TC. Oh, and Troy, which is part of being at full strength.
Best possible lineup. Excellent. Always a tough one against Colin, but feeling confident now. 2-0 win incoming.
****ing freezing and windy. Perfect Warnock Northern clogger conditions. Sarr and Pedro will be hauled off with either hypothermia or muscle strains. 1-0 Boro.
I83 EFL games were due to be televised for 2019/2020 before Covid. The sky PL package is 128 games per season, sky show more EFL games than premier league games, don’t know the breakdown of championship though. But anyway, I’ll leave it there as it’s all totally irrelevant as it’s what I would like to see happen to the football pyramid, not what will happen.
To be fair to João, getting raked down the ankle does feel like you're going to lose your foot for the first 5 mins. He was man of the match against Boro last time. Come on you Orns!
Images of those shirtless Newcastle fans with huge beer guts and t**ts bigger than mine on a freezing cold December afternoon.
Massive game today . This is a tough one coming up against Warnock but I think if we win this it will be a massive step towards promotion . Brentford and Swansea may well get results , so we need to maintain the gap if we can. Great news that Pedro is fit as I was expecting him to be out for a few weeks . Come on u ornnns!
The Watford Observer with no club sources puts 2+2 together and ends up with 5. A local newspaper with local news/info that you can easily get elsewhere. It's only function after a cursory read is pet bedding or as an impromptu draft excluder.
The only bit in the Watford Observer worth reading was the court report page, but that's been suspended for a while now. I did put in a planning application 6 weeks ago, so a reference to that was on the planning page but that's it really.
Can someone explain why when Brentford get shown on Sky they get a member of staff on as a pundit, but we always seem to get Gary Monk?
Good to hear Warnock conceding the playoffs, giving his players a pass essentially. I seem to remember he did it against us in the Premier League once, he basically said we won’t win this game, which I thought was odd at the time. Edit: this was it: https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...team-outside-top-six-ahead-trip-cardiff-city/
It's part of the whole 'every ex player of note who we owned/launched the career of desperately scrabbles to pretend they have never heard of us to wash the stink off' thing - even when, say, Kevin Phillips, is on for a game of ours, as he has been this season, there is no mention of or weight given to the fact that we literally started his professional career - he's just treated as a neutral observer. We are the very height of unfashionability.
Oh no, Troy's there. Going to wave his walking stick angrily at our players and bawl pastry-flecked instructions between bites of his pastie, all through the game no doubt.
Ryan Gray sat in for Tom Bodell on the most recent Watford Buzz pod after Wednesday, and it was really not a good swap - very dull to listen to, and so clearly spoke as someone who wasn't a fan, but also almost as the kind of other team fan who isn't really bothered about Watford or what they do at all in the first place.
Also genuinely mental that at this point in coverage of a Championship game Sky still can't help themselves but obsess over and shine a light squarely on Troy - 'still injured' 'not starting' - too ******* right, mate. Why are you even mentioning it? He hasn't for months. It doesn't count as team news. Bah.
Aren't Achilles heel injuries notoriously slow to recover from. Particularly, when you've got 10 tens resting on it while standing. Will be surprised if he plays again this season.
It's not about making the experience enjoyable for everyone, it's about arranging things so Prem clubs get the maximum number of lucrative games in Europe.
Watford almost literally having to do nothing to win this so far. The idea of Middlesbrough making the playoffs on that evidence is laughable.
I'm glad we are winning, but we need to stop d!cking around with it at the back. Just clear the ball. It's lead to a few Boro' corners. Maybe sub Chalobah? Wouldn't want a red card start of second half.
Even if he 'recovered', he wouldn't get anywhere near fitness - he's famous for taking ages to be able to chug about again, and he even admitted himself in hindsight that he never did in the 16/17 Mazzarri season after having an interrupted pre-season (which is insane).
Chalobah has gone back to sauntering around. Come on! We're going to look stupid if they equalise. Up the tempo
