But what do you think? Clearly, it is not rich people who usually end up living next to immigrants and many would be intolerant of having an asylum centre set up in their neighbourhood. In this case, in a stunt, Florida Governor, Desantis has sent immigrants from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard and apparently just dumped them there to make a political point. The immigrants were callously lied to that jobs and housing awaited them. Much to his annoyance, some of the locals stepped up and looked after them until they were moved again to a facility. I’m not sure why that is virtue signalling or if opponents would have been more pleased if they had pulled guns on them, but that’s what they did. This stupid stunt, at significant cost to Florida tax payers, was probably illegal. Republicans still trying to make a point from it, but don’t seem clear what the point is. Are liberals hateful because they are hateful or even worse because they can also be nice sometimes?
Spoken like a true hero of the people. They were not lied to. They were told the promises made by a sanctuary state, and shown the sign that the wealthy residents of Martha’s Vineyard placed at access points to the Island. They were recruited from the streets of Texas, where they were homeless, and were offered an alternative. They signed travel documents, and travelled voluntarily, expecting the residents to live up to their virtue signalling promises. Gammons defending very wealthy gammons is what I expect on here from lefties. Even the hard left in the US have accepted that Democrat hypocrisy has been exposed by this. They were not sent to a refugee facility, by the way. They were sent to a military base, instead of being taken in to one of the hundreds of unoccupied holiday homes. Nor were they taken in by the wealthy locals, but by a local church that put them up, to the delight of Christian Republicans. The money that exists in that place, and the sanctuary promises made by its residents, and the reaction to 48 migrants arriving was not to prepare a facility, but to fob them off on the church, and get the military (more troopers than migrants turned up) to remove them as soon as possible. And you just told a pack of lies to defend them. Stop pretending now. You are no more a working class hero than Boris, and you will defend the wealthy from exposure to discomforting situations as readily as any tory MP would a member of the gentry. Don’t deny it, because you just did it. No wonder you don’t debate anyone who talks facts to you.
