    The 27-year-old old has agreed to take “a massive cut in wages” to continue his career at Kingfield and sees his decision as a thank you for the way the club looked after him when he missed the majority of last season with a knee injury.

    Hutchinson’s wages will not form part of the playing budget, and will be paid by well-meaning fans who have clubbed together to help out.

    “There are about nine supporters involved so far and it just shows their loyalty to Woking,” said operations director Peter Jordan.

    “Some are putting in as much as £40 a month which is fantastic.”

    Woking were relegated from the BSP last season.
