Forde looks decent at League 1 so hopefully can make the step up next year. When was the last striker that came through the academy and actually was an asset to the first team? Gifton?

Not the greatest game for Forde and he didn't really have to do much for his goal, but a goals a goal! Hurtado however was a menace, even aside from winning the penalty any time he got the ball and got running he looked dangerous, I still have no idea how good he actually is or how good he can be though!

Good finish again from Forde. It does seem like he doesn't really contribute much other than shots though.

That's a great run from Hurtado. He already looks a bit stronger and more like a possible CF than in his brief cameo for us against Chesterfield. Gills fans seem very happy with him so far so let's hope he gets some starts for them now.

I definitely see Forde more as a striker if he were to play a part with us next season, not that good of a dribbler and his movement + finishing ability is too good to stick out on the wing

I don't see how he'd get many opportunities for us as a striker presuming we'll still play with Ismael's 433 system, as also his hold-up play is basically non-existent. Even when Forde has played as a striker for Orient it has typically been in a front 2 with a more traditional targetman. He'll probably run in to the same kind of issue that Healey had for us in that he'd be reliant on late cameos coming on alongside another striker when we're chasing the game, as if he was used as the lone striker he'll really struggle to get involved.

He's been playing a bit more as a RW for Orient of late it seems, but yeah his current lack of dribbling ability will hold him back from making too much of an impact there with us either. It's a bit odd as it's hardly as if he's slow, so I'm not sure why he seems to unwilling or incapable of running with the ball.
