If Spurs and Arsena end up drawing, it's essential we capitalise and get the win. It would be typical of Watford to mess up though. Why isn'the it straightforward being a hornet?
That's half the fun. When we do pull off beating Utd or the Deeeeennneeeyyy! Moment it's all much more worth it
A reality check. Need to get this one out of the system and work even harder than before. The table seems to be splitting into the contenders and the rest. The slow starters are also starting to get into their stride. Liverpool are good going forward but we did not get at their suspect defence. A rather disappointing defensive play and we are still very poor at cutting out or defending crosses.
Sometimes the opposition is just too good. The big boys took offence at what happened last season and all look bloody strong this time out. Some comical defending but then Liverpool's attacking play is unstoppable. A good last 30 minutes and 8 shots on target is better from an attacking perspective. We might have had a couple more but so might they. Positives player wise, Amrabat, Ighalo and Watson. Thought Deeney was much less willing to collect than Iggy today and that Capoue, Berhami and Pererya had shockers.
I expected to lose, most likely heavily, but that was still embarrassing Kaboul in particular was dreadful, he is such a donkey and not good enough to start in the PL, i'd rather give Kabasele games Gutted to lose Gomes to injury as well, so many key players dropping like flies at the moment, badly need some squad depth in January
Comedy performance. Regardless of how good Liverpool are we were an absolute shambles all over the pitch. Pub league level passing and defending and blunt as you like up top, as usual.
Really poor, but not particularly worried. Liverpool are very good and that back line is probably about our 8th choice. Badly need players back fit and it's massively hampering us atm.
Absolute shambles. Embarrassing and pathetic. Poor tactics, poor selection, naive head coach. Ighalo, in my eyes, is done. He offers absolutely ****ing nothing. It's ok to play with 10 men against similar sides like Swansea, Man Utd and Hull, but against a good team - this is what happens. Along with the Gomes injury, an absolute disaster of a day. A long two weeks ahead for the squad and Walter.
Those three need to take a long hard look at themselves, not just for today but since the Man United match none of them have put in a decent shift. They provide no creativeness, they leave the defence exposed, no service to the front two and no desire.
This score reflects how well we have performed in the last 4/5 games, we were fortunate to come out of our terrible start with more points than we expected, we then went downhill against the poor teams but they are that poor we still picked up points. Today is a true measure of how good we really are and how poor most of the league is below 7th place.
If you continually give the ball away cheaply around the half way line, you are going to get ****ed by a team like Liverpool. So, obviously that's what we did. Over and over again. Capoue, amrabat, behrami and Watson all guilty. All resulted in goals and / or very good chances. It was pathetic to watch, to be honest
What an earth did Ighalo do wrong today? I can't remember him giving the ball away once, came to get it and hold it up and had absolutely zero service. Weird time to have a pop at him.
He did nothing. When the minimal service arrived he wasn't present. No strength, no presence, can't deal with a high ball or a ball into feet and no longer gets into goal scoring positions.
You realise this forum has a 'competition' of sorts to post jokey comments and see which get picked up by wound up snooping opposition fans? Well done for falling into the trap genius
That was harrowing. What an awful pile of steaming crud that was. We started off poorly, encouraged them on by keeping skewing the ball out of defence straight to their forwards and it was obviously just a matter of time until they scored. They misplaced a few passes and you could hear the groans from their crowd. We obviously felt for them, because we made very sure to give it straight back to them. Roll of Dishonour:- 1. Behrami - just awful. Dreadful. They were waltzing through the area where he was supposed to have been. We looked much better when Watson came on. 2. Iggy - I can't comprehend how he keeps getting played and doesn't get subbed. Did absolutely nothing. 3. Pererya - Where the flipping heck werya? 4. Amrabloodybat - Jesus man what were you thinking? Why just stand there and watch them. You're supposed to be defending. 5. Pants - Pants 6. Capoue - How about trying the occasional gentle trot once or twice instead of spending 90 mins strolling around like it's a park game? 7. Deeney - Where was the leadership? Where was the organisation big man? 8. J. Trolleybus - Positively glad the obnoxious bubble will be out next match.
You must be fully blind. He's now the scapegoat regardless for some. Our midfield was culpable for today's ineptitude.
Ighalo was actually one of our better players today. Kaboul was a weird signing at the time and looks even weirder now. Was a big part of a famously s**t Sunderland defence and has brought that here. Capoue couldn't be bothered. Going forward Amrabat is very good and our most dangerous player, but should not be playing RWB where he needs to defend, especially against a team like Liverpool. Behrami was abysmal. Pants is nowhere near the level of Gomes and is simply not good enough for the PL despite a very good save from Sturridge. If Gomes' injury is as serious as it looks then we are screwed. Liverpool were phenomenal and would have comfortably beaten us regardless, but those players need to have a look at themselves.
He's had three games since he was dropped to make some sort of impact. He's done **** all in those games. He's not the scapegoat for today's ****show, there's plenty of blame to go around so a scapegoat is not required, however, he's now consistently ineffective and there appears to be no way back from it.
That was the most painful match I've seen Watford play in my short experience following the Hornets. Well deserved by Liverpool of course but my word did we make it easy. Midfield was utter *******s, especially Behrami. Capoue was only good once we got the ball into their final third and even then he was still sloppy. Pereyra has had a few moments of class but overall a bad game, he needs badly to be played as a CAM instead of a RM. Janmaat was decent, Holebas was poor but to be fair to him had a few moments of quality in the first half. Amrabat the only player that looked effective. Ighalo was mediocre but looked like he was running through mud, don't know how he expects to score like that. Deeney was actually not as bad as he is being put to task for, he worked some quite nice attacking moves towards the end there and was unlucky not to assist Capoue. Britos and Kaboul were terrible. Gomes had been looking good for a while but then conceded three and got injured. Pantilimon is not bad, probably rusty but made some smart saves to stop it from being 7 or 8. I don't know what else to say, I'm trying to pick out positives and the only thing I can say is that that performance would have taken apart almost any team in the Premiership, that was furious football from Liverpool. RIP Watford.
I actually thought Iggy was OK today. Certainly lower down the list of blame than others. Amrabat isnt a defender. Going forward he was the best player by a country mile. Beharmi needs a rest and capoue needs a rocket up his backside. 352 doesnt suit our squad imho. Change the squad or the system.
