In a bizarre, 'Don't tell them your name, Pike!!!' sort of way, whenever you or any other poster posts this simple post, all is well in my world.
Given that the chances of us getting anything out of the game are probably somewhere between slim & none, a point would feel like a win.
To go three games unbeaten and heading into the second break would also do a lot to boost squad morale.
It will be short-lived, however, when they realise it means Xisco won't flush for several weeks longer...
I have big feelings about tomorrow. I'm going to go for a long walk and try out my new wet weather gear in the rain, then come home and watch us lose via a dodgy Russian River. Leeds 3-0 Watford.
If we could go into the international break above Brentford that would be great, makes me physically sick to see those scumbags above us.
They have Spam don't they? Tough game - but they played Klopp's boys off the park last weekend. Might be a hard earned draw, although Spam do like a late goal nowadays.
The law of averages says our midfield 3 will click one day. If it's tomorrow we may be in luck, if not it'll be a long and hard afternoon
I think Leeds are going to score 7 weeks-worth of goals today. Play anything like we did against Newcastle and records will be broken.
Yes, it feels good, but how is your world when any poster posts the more desperate (and more common!) simple post ‘Must win game’ ‘Don’t panic’ ?
You can’t beat French philosophers when they postulate on football.. “When seagulls follow the trawler it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.” Seagulls aren’t stupid and they also make good philosophers - here’s the very wise thoughts of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, relevant to all long suffering Watford fans..,
Got to play Tufan, he is one of our only midfielders who can play the ball forwards. Still not convinced we have the tactical nous to take advantage of gung hi Leeds. Prove me wrong Xisco.
Jonathan Livingstone Seagull - wow - I thought I'd successfully forgotten all about that book. That, and 'Zen and the art of motorbike mechanics' or whatever it was called. We should be careful of going on about seagulls on this site or we'll have 'Caskey' posting again, strutting his stuff.
Yes, this surely is the nub of it - correct tactics. Leeds are beatable but they attack well. For what it's worth, I think both sides will score and it may even be a high-scoring game. Cliche alert - the first goal may well dictate the match, I wouldn't want us to be chasing their score.
I think if Cathcart starts, we will be chasing within about 30 seconds. That being said, anecdotally, I feel like there is a pattern where Xisco makes an inexplicable/stupid personnel decision, persists with it for a while amidst general bewilderment, defends it in a presser, disagreement over it reaches critical mass in the general Watford media sphere, and then he suddenly reverses course in contrast to everything he said up to that point. For that purely speculative reason I can see Sierralta strolling back into the starting line-up this afternoon. Plus, as I said, the thought of Cathcart up against Raphinha is the stuff of nightmares.
I had a dream that we won 1-0 through a Cleverlee goal through a handball. VAR went down so they couldn’t check it and the Leeds fans went nuts and started smashing up their own stadium. I’d like to think this was a premonition but I was also playing in the game so it probably wasn’t.
I really hope we win because I won’t be able to bear the rubbish about them being due a win that will get spouted if we don’t.
Stuck in cattle class on a Sheffield to Leeds rickety old rustbucket staring out of the window - geez it's bleak out there. It's gonna be a loooong day.
@GoingDown in for Cathcart is the only change in the starting 11 I’m hearing. @Burnsy in for Etebo on the bench.
