For the avoidance of doubt which of these is the thread to comment on his defending and which one on his attacking qualities? And is the Kiko fella the poor defender and the Kiki fella one the good crosser of a ball?
He is very replaceable if you've got a competent recruitment team. For this reason, I agree that we would be better off keeping him. On the flip side, he's in his 30's and pace is an important part of his game. There's a good chance Kiko will start slowing down in the near future.

Very suspicious that the hierarchy have suddenly began to treat their employees with compassion and empathy. I trust this will be a consistent policy from now on and not just when they need a way to deflect well-deserved criticism for selling a key player a week before the start of the season?
Femenia is a player I’ve greatly enjoyed watching and, fairly usually for an overseas player, he gave us five years of his career playing over 150 times for Watford. Good luck Kiko!

I would say WFC is one of the most generous and compassionate employers around. There often seems to be eff all squared expected in return for five years or more of generous wages.
Femenia, when fit and linking up with a switched-on Sarr, was one of the best aspects of the Watford team to watch over the last couple of seasons. (Arguably the only thing early last season). The Premier League exposed his defending fairly often, but he has been one of our better players for a good length of time. Last time we were in the Championship it could have been argued he was one of the best right wingers in the division. However, as has been pointed out, he is 31, increasingly injury-prone and not going to get any quicker. And it seems he wanted to go home. To get some money for him after 5 years of service doesn't strike me as a bad deal. Incidentally, I would have thought Ngakia is good enough to play at Championship level. Not stand-out, perhaps, but I still think a consistent run in the first team (with some good coaching) would see him better his game. (Good coaching - now there's a thought). A second right back will be needed, and maybe that will be the crunch, but right-sided players are commoner than left-sided ones.
I hope so. I hope they have learnt from the time they undermined Ivic from the start with the number of players around the team and uncertainty as to who was going and who was staying. As has been mentioned Soppy might be the candidate.
