Bit surprised to see no thread, unless it’s elsewhere and I’ve missed it. Just listened to the podcast of his life story described in interview with Mark Pougatch, which served to reinforce previous impressions from many years of enjoying his measured and humourous contributions to 5 live commentaries. The biggest compliment I can pay him is to say that as a football man and all round decent human being he’s the only person I would rank as the equal of GT. R.I.P.
