https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/44984/derby-and-watford-eyeing-el-mizouni Ipswich media reporting we're after one of their youngsters. Never seen him play, and there is a gulf between League 2 and the Championship, but a young Tunisian international from the lower leagues, who happens to be homegrown to boot, seems like a sensible kind of deal
We do need a Choudhury replacement but it’s not a role that is particularly suitable of a young kid making a big step up in my opinion. If we were to bring in an older PL free transfer (say a Milivojevic), he’d be a fitting understudy.
Good as a rotation option who could force his way into the team, but I wouldn't want to see him starting immediately, especially if we don't get in someone else to play that role if he turns out to be a dud.
Sign me up then! For all the flak Choudhury gets, some of it deserved, he's genuinely elite in Championship terms at what he does, so someone who is almost a mirror image of him defensively but better than him in possession seems like a good place to start
He’d be crazy to leave Ipswich for us. Ipswich will be pushing for promotion next season in the champ.
Does this chart take into account what level the players are playing at? Hopefully he is a squad player that we can develop. Nice to see a new rumour anyway.
Nah, it's just a percentile ranking based against every other player in that position, so it's likely that those numbers will take a hit when moving to a tougher league.
From the limited amount of clips I could find of him he seems to have some real class on the ball; baffling how he ended up on loan from Ipswich to League Two. I wouldn't be against this as a cheap punt for a young back-up/bench player we could develop.
Why any young player would join us is a mystery. Still, it will be fun to see another player stall his career for a few years I guess.
