Hemel (work) to Wendover (home) normally takes 30mins
Last night left work at 4pm home at 8.30pm.

Still friend from work left at 4.20 she got home (Aylesbury) at 12.50 this morning.

Snow day today work from home a41 shut. Damn (A little walk up the hills in my lunch hour i think)

Walked to get the car this morning then sailed in, someone actually gritted the roads, woohoo! Some of the tales of people getting home last night were awful. Anyone who uses the A41 was, (and still is), f***ed. Someone should be shot for the gritting situation.

Saw 1 gritter last night and ..........it wasn't gritting. Someone should be shot for the a41.
As for tales i resisted to tell my toilet related story. All i'll say is the more you try and not think about it the worse it is. I made it home to struggle with key in the lock, fell over the cats, wade through the excited kids only to find the wife in the toilet:forehead:
is there a better feeling once the pressure is off?

I quite like the snow, it's just when it turns into slush and ice afterwards that I don't like.

Wierd snow, it's more like that packing material at the moment. Been ordered to get down Tesco's and stock up so might take a sleeping bag with me!

I'm told it was chaos in supermarkets this afternoon as people stocked up for two years of snow so you might need weapons as well.

It is funny stuff, like polystyrene beads.

Where I live we had no gas over the Christmas period, so no heating or cooking, had frequent power cuts and the two roads heading into my village were cut off. All of this is bloody Bedfirdshire, I suppose that is what I get for living near the scum!

Snowing again now, but the main amount is meant to hit tommorow evening here.

No snow at all here in Harrow.

The small Tesco in Rickmansworth appears to have had a hoard of locust go through it today. No tomato soup, no sausage rolls, no orange juice, no Tesco's chicken dippers, (yes it's mainly the kids stuff). Everything else on my list was in short supply. It was empty of people too.

had to abandon my car in the hilly part of reading (caversham) after collecting daughter. it was only snowing lightly when i set off to get her but coming down in buckets by the time we were driving home. no chance of getting down/up any of the hills so we walked. took an hour in driving snow to get home. now my car is miles away and i am home in the warm with a big glass of rioja.

    who cares about tomorrow.

Sales of cat litter have soared as well, as that works nearly as well as grit apparently!

don't think it does. you need the salt in grit to melt the snow.

i've heard cat litter also works. It was on the BBC last week. Not tried it though!

Getting hammered with snow in Burnham right now. Looks like we're in the firing line for a change. However I'm off skiing Sunday morning and don't fancy Gatwick being closed all week. So while this is nice, it's not welcome at the weekend!

Currently 6 inches of snow in Southampton, and it's still snowing now!

It just took me over 3 hours to get from one end of Southampton to the other, which normally takes 15 minutes!

    Horrendous stuff!

Pretty much all schools in Hertfordshire has closed, mainly because of the heavier snow that is expected later on, rather than what happened overnight.

Working from home here, all schools closed, as above, I think it's due to what's coming later. Sub zero temperatures for the rest of the week. I'll be shocked if the Sheffield game happens Saturday.
