That referee has ****ing bottled it. Uruguay should be down to 10 men.

Not good enough from England though, we really need to step it up. Still, the ref is a bottlejob ****, pardon my French.

Gerrard just isn't good enough. Would much rather have lampard. Sturridge seems to have learned the wrong things from Suarez and just hits the deck if he loses the ball. Props to Rooney though, different player tonight

More annoying was that pitiful jock on his own in the Uruguay end cheering their second goal. Suppose it's the only way they get to see a World Cup game.sad ****

Last night was poorer than against Italy I thought and we were made to pay by a world class footballer - something we lack.

Suarez's 2 goals just proves he is always ready and waiting - sometimes I feel we were just hoping for something to happen.

Costa Rica look twice the team we are, and at the moment they're on track to win the group.

Funny in a way, Costa Rica doing exactly what Italy did to us, sitting deep and Italy are unable to break them down. Italy and Uruguay did a job on us, and Costa Rica have done a job on them both.

Well, it's official....our worst ever performance at a World Cup, the first time we've ever been eliminated after two games.

Well this world cup has been good. Both my teams have gone out in the first week......:dismay:

I initially thought England had a tough group, but Costa Rica made light work of it.

Great to see Costa Rica go out there today and play with belief. Absolutely delighted to see them pick up the upset, you could see how much it meant to them at the end. Performances like that are what makes the World Cup so brilliant.

As for England, I actually feel quite positive about the future. For the first time in a while, we have the opportunity to really rebuild the team around the young talent we have - with the likes of Sterling, Barkley, Sturridge and Oxlade-Chamberlain all looking like they are capable of going on to be really excellent top-level players who can play at high speed. I'd just love to see us go out there and play with real desire and belief for once, rather than being paralyzed by fear.

I bet Liverpool are very happy to see a number of their key players get an extended holiday!

Apparently 7 costa rica players have been called for drugs tests, 5 more than the standard. They missed them before the world cup apparently.

We've finally gotten some decent radio (well, satellite radio) programming for American and European football here. Well not American football, but American football. Ok, I mean soccer in America. (That's why we have to say that word.).

Anyway, in the last 18 months I've heard a fair bit about England's plans to actively develop youth talent and how they compare to Spain, France and Germany, and I'm hoping it succeeds the way it's been laid out. To be honest, I can't believe it wasn't done sooner. Or has it..? What went on before as far as youth development? Why didn't it succeed?
