Get Saracens Out!

We need to shove Saries out of the Vic, I don't care if they pay us rent etc etc... we're in the Premiershit now and don't need it. Look at the pitch last night it was terrible, I know the weather has been bad but that's no excuse. Rugby is proven to screw up playing surfaces. I've a Charlton supporting mate who said that they kicked out the London Broncos for this reason.

We've already embarassed outselves with this tea towel incident last night so having a crappy pitch is just another feather in our caps! I've heard comments before that a shocking pitch will aid our style, but I don't believe that's the case. Last night was our worst home performance on that pitch, we've played better when it's not a cabbage patch. I'm sure the groundsman does a good job and works hard, it's not his fault, the pitch just can't cope with rugby and football I'm afraid.

So it's time for Saries to go - unless when Nigel Wray was around he did some deal where we can't kick Saracens out, in which case I'm not happy!

It's contractural. If we kick them out we'd have to pay them compensation, which I really don't think is worth it. They'll be reconsidering the deal in 2010.

It depends on how much the compensation would be. If it were affordable it might be worth it don't you think?

Anyway I just needed a rant about something, the frustrations of last night and going to work have boiled over  and I've taken them out on the condition of the pitch and Saracens!

how would saracens feel if we did that? people have shown loyalty to us, we cant just throw them out.

the pitch might actually help us if its boggy. teams wont be able to play slick passing football and will be forced to change tactics.

whereas we will be used to it and can use it for our advantage.

it will also caused teams to get tired quicker, but hopefully we will be fit enough to cope with it

also is us playing badly due to the pitch or the players?

I agree with the original poster, until we sort out the infrastructure (pitch and stadium) it will be hard to establish ourselves as a Premiership side. (However I will continue to believe we can stay up until it is mathematically impossible).

Think the contract is up for renewal in 2009. Might be wrong.
Sarries were a useful boost to finances when they first started playing at the Vic, but in the last few seasons, they have become a hindrance to us (IMO).

At least they bring a bit of top flight success to the ground.

It'll probably make our chances better of winning seeing that we don't like playing the ball on the ground.

why has none of the management team instructed our players to wear LONG studs in the boots at home instead of the short blades , that way we should gain an advantage as everygame from both teams always seem to slip over .

Aidy was supposed to have banned blades.

He could have banned the Blades on Tuesday and we'd have still lost...

StuBoy Saracens are paying us £412,000 per season in rent (and for that they will probably be allowed to burn down the odd stand or two).

As mentioned in another post our financial position is still not strong (although good from where we have come from):

We have £450,000 cash in the bank.

We need to repay Directors and bank loan of just under £1 million within 12 months.

We have a bank overdraft facility of £2 million (subject to annual review).

We have loans of £6.2 million much of which covers Aidys signings at the start of the season (which are spread over 1 - 5 years).

Our turnover has been static at £8.5 million for the past 3 years, and we lost £5.5 million (after paying staff costs of £10 million - including promotion bonuses of around £3 million).

The big question is will the Sky money arrive in time to spend in the transfer window (assuming we can attract suitable players) , or will the Directors inject more capital

hornetmaster you make some valuable points and I suppose on the whole you are right. I think my rant at Saracens had a lot to do with our poor performance on Tuesday and the state of the cabbage patch...sorry I mean pitch.
