Arkham City was good, but I completed it so quickly and flogged it while the price was still good. I still have Arkham Island

Hoping the new one later this year has more "play it again" moments

Arkham City without a doubt. I picked up the GOTY edition which had all the DLC etc, and even after all of that, the single player is open world and there's a fair bit to go back and do if you want to.

Playing through Final Fantasy VIII at the moment on my mac through a playstation emulator. Forgot how it was such an addictive game.

 

For those interested, there's a new GTA V gameplay trailer for online. And by those interested, I'm sure that's everyone.

 

Saints Row IV looks quite fun, however ive already decided that the next and last game i will buy for my 360 will be GTA V. Got a lot of stuff to finish before the ONE comes out in november.

 

Anyone here planning on buying the PS4 on release day? I think I'll get it for xmas. With Fifa 14 and Cod Ghosts.

 

Any news for GTA V release date?

Not sure whether to wait it out, or bite the bullet and get it for 360.

 

all xbox one preorders get a copy of fifa 14 free whilst stocks last. pretty happy with that.

 

Right, I'm playing Bioshock Infinite at the moment and while good I have to say is not as good as the Last of Us.

I've still got plenty to go in both games, but that's my feeling right now.

 

While I love the 360, the XboxOne sent out all the wrong messages.

DRM, it watching everything you do etc. were all on initial release, and only the worst features went away when the PS4 did not follow this route.

I don't wish to support a company that restricts games like this and thinks these practises are acceptable.

 

but they listened and changed all that. For what it's worth in the future all games will be in the form of downloads anyway, perhaps they were jumping the gun a bit, but that is the way things will go.

 

I don't think they will. Look at the book industry. After e-books came out it did no damage to actual book sales.

 

Not whilst they're making consoles with non-removable 500gb HDD's they certainly won't. Nowhere near enough. Games of this new generation are looking to start off at about 40gb and could easily reach near 100gb when we start getting games like GTA on next gen.

Personally I don't we'll be getting digital only games any time in the foreseeable future. The internet speed isn't there for enough people to be downloading such huge files and for it to make sense we'd be needing at least 2tb HDD's as an absolute minimum, which they're clearly not happy to provide as standard.

 

There's the also the issue of there not being enough data bandwidth available to everyone to use, and is becoming a potential concern.

I agree. I do still think the PC will become more used for games than either games console. PC gaming is on the up, things like steam are so simple and cheap and appealing.

 

Are they stand alone games or do you have to play the whole series for it to make sense?

 

I don't remember buying anything water cooled. There's 4 fans on it though.

 

they are stand-alone. i would definitely recommend them if you have not played any of them, and you are into rpgs.

there are three final fantasy games on my top 10 games ever list; final fantasy 7, final fantasy 8 and final fantasy 10. i never really enjoyed final fantasy 9, 10-2 (was absolutely ****) and 13 was a big let down as they changed the whole combat system.

 

The 17th September. Not sure it's available for the next gen, is it?

Yeh like that. I don't watch Dota 2 though, only starcraft occasionally. Insane how there were more people watching a starcraft quarter finals yesterday than there were at wembley for the playoff final.

 

well im currently playing mine through an emulator on my mac. pcsxr is the emulator i use.

 

It's just that they are all available for download on the pc but little point if it wont work!

 

well if they are available to download on the pc i would say go for it. definitely worth a little outlay.

the thing with roms and emulators is that sometimes the game will struggle at certain areas unless you have the correct bios installed. on a legal basis as well, you are really only supposed to own roms of games that you actually own. i own all the final fantasy games so these are pretty much the only ones i play on the emulator.

Not personally a big fan of Starcraft 2, although I am a big fan of RTS games in general. When Rome Total War 2 comes out, no daylight will be seen.

Dota 2 had something like 700k viewers at times during the "The International 3", the biggest Dota 2 tournament of the year. The winners from Sweden won $1.4m.. not bad
