been out at newton abbot tonight watching some racing, came home £30 up. particular highlight was a 10-1 winner called lord lesbronci or something, won by a neck and had me shouting so hard my voice got horse (intentional) as it came up the last furlong.

 

Watching ur horse galloping up the home straight and winning is as exciting as any individual moment in sport and good for the wallet. 10/1 is a great priced winner.

 

yep i love horse racing. was not expecting a lot, but caught my eye in the paddock. just one of those nights where everything pretty much went my way. had an exacta earlier in the night too.

 

ive got a free £3 bet to use at some point in the next couple of days. tempted to look at some of the racing at york today.

First two are Ligue 2 matches, Auxerre went down last season and Monaco the season before. Two big clubs at that level (Monaco played in the Champions league final 8 years ago) and thus could be small profit makers this season. Likewise Hertha now playing in the German 2nd division. Next up dutch 2nd division and this one was pure luck and went with it for it mainly because of the team name whilst didn't fancy Wexford to cause an upset in the cup over in Ireland. Nice tenner to be collected tommorow on the way to work and finally a *****ing win ;D

Wycombe were 3-1 down when that one got abandoned so the return was on the first 4 and bought in £9. That's me probably done for the season then.

i can't comment to you if boro is a great price - i don't think so personally and i think millwall have started ok. If i wer you i would be lookig at the draw no bet market... boro are 6/5 with Paddy power -so if they draw you get your diosh back.. you lose if mwall win.. you win obviuosly if boro win.. get yourself a betfair a/c if you haven't got one - pm me if you do as there are account opening bonuses etc as wel or if you have a mate you would prefer to use who has an account he can get a bonus for introducing you.

The odds on away wins in the Championship at this stage of the season is brilliant.

I've gone for Boro, Bristol City, Sheffield Wed and Blackpool away wins today with Man Utd beating Southampton tomorrow to make up the numbers.

In the 85th minute of the Man Utd game I went online and saw they were 9/1 to win.

I know must do it for a bit of fun but did you guys know that an accumulator bet is a very poor bet in mathematical terms? You're compounding the overround (e.g. the difference between the price the bookies give you and the actual chances of a the outcome). In case your interested.....
If you bet on a coin being tossed, the actual chance of heads is 50% e.g. evens. Bookies would probably offer you 5/6 and have a 10% overround (that's where they make their profit). If you bet on 2 coin tosses in an accumulator bet the actual odds being offered would be 2.3/1 compared with actual chances of 3/1. The more bets you add to the accumulator the worse odds will be and the more money the bookies will make.
I stay away from betting on football as I wasn't much good at finding the value but those who I know are successful at it suggest PYA's methods - e.g select a team you can get to know better than the bookies and find the value in the bets they are offering or concentrate on the more obscure markets.
Sorry - boring as hell but useful to know for those who are serious about making a profit in betting.
