First Female Manager

    Few reckon it’s a bit of a publicity stunt by a club that like to do them and in the end they will appoint a male manager for the season .

    But she does work at FGR and been a coach for a while so no doubt will be qualified.

    An encouraging development, but it does seem a bit pointless if she is just going to be in post for a couple of friendlies. A caretaker role mid-season at least means something, but this is odd. Why not give her a go as a permanent appointment?

    I always thought it would be Hope Powell and hoped, at the pinnacle of her career, it should have been 'us' who broke this particular glass ceiling.

    But then again I'm not a great believer in 'Great Player = Great Manager'*.

    *That's why I have high hopes for Lloydinho...
