Time Lapse. Currently on Sky anytime. An interesting take on time travel paradox. A low budget well acted film. Reminded me a lot of Shallow Grave in it's cinematography.

I imagine it's what Tales of the Unexpected would be like now. Worth a look if you've got a spare hour & a half.

Paddington Bear.....Nicole Kidman looks incredibly fit in it.

It's a film about interplanetary travel, laser sword fighting, magical energy stuff and robots. What was he expecting?

Whatever you do, don't tell him they didn't actually film on location on Tatooine. He'll do his nut when he realises it's Tunisia.

I watched priest with Paul bettany because I felt I had been watching too much high brow arty fare. I actually quite liked it and am sad there will be no sequel.

Just got back from watching Paddington. It was just a lovely film that had me in tears of laughter all the way through (apart from the sad bits). Great cast and the CGI is phenomenal. Very Mary Poppins in tone.

Bad Grandpa. The farting in the cafe scene had me in stiches. Watch the making of film first. Both on Sky anytime at the moment.

Concur with above views re Paddington. Lovely film & a 'who's who' of British acting talent (apart from Kidman, obviously).

Watched "The Pelican Brief" again last night, still an excellent film :sign15:

TV was on the other night and the Keith Lemon Movie started.

I'll give any movie a chance. I really will. If I get past about 20 minutes I normally watch to the end.

I can honestly say that this movie was the worst type of **** I've ever seen. With the horribly delivered crude humour, cringeworthy cameos and tired jokes from Bo'Selecta characters that were 12 years old that I was just shocked that he included.

I can only assume that Leigh Francis knows what he is doing. No comedian, however bad, would think any of that pile of dog **** was remotely funny and I can only think that he knows that the idiots that watch his current shows would lap it up.

****ing atrocious and truly the worst movie I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. I honestly couldn't stand anymore after 30 odd minutes.

Watching 'The Hunger Games' at the moment for the first time, to see what all the fuss is about. So far so good but I'm surprised it's a 12. Guess it depends on the child but there's no way my eldest - who turns 11 in January - is anywhere near ready to watch (or read) this. I'm, ahem, significantly older than 11, & I'm finding it pretty disturbing myself.

So what did you think overall? As everybody always says about film adaptations of books, the book is better - but I think the films are pretty good anyway, if not a bit long! It's worth noting though, the books are classed as Young Adult not Teen Fiction - the 12 rating is just the film industry trying to make as much money as possible, but the intended audience is more like 16-25.

Well I haven't read the books (which I hear are very good) so didn't have that bias against the film. I actually really enjoyed the film and found myself quite emotionally invested in it (have to confess one bit - the obvious bit - even made me tear up). Even though I am a virtual OAP compared with the film's target audience, it left me wanting to see the rest of the trilogy. I get the impression, from those who have seen all the films, that the second one is a bit dull but the third one is back on form. Would you agree?
I definitely concur re the 12 certificate - too young for the material.

Watched all your standard Christmas movies over the festive period as you'd expect - All great!

Saw Dumb & Dumber To - Terrible. Tried far too hard to be funny and witty. The only comedy in the whole thing is the slapstick/nut punches. I wouldn't waste your time at the cinema.

The second film follows the same sort of structure as the first - the first half being the build-up and the second being the games. However I found it a bit frustrating, the build-up was too in-depth whilst the games themselves seemed rushed and one-dimensional. I watched it with friends who hadn't read the books, and I had to keep explaining things. I think it presumes you've read the books a little bit too much. That said, the action is on par with the first film.

The 3rd film takes a different approach, rather than the usual two halves it's one continuous plot. It's also more of a thought-provoking film than the action of the first two, however it builds up well for the final instalment. Out of the three, it probably sticks to the book most closely - some areas are actually improved.

Interstellar - 9.5/10! - One of the best films I have ever seen. The plot was simple (trying to find a new home planet) but the twists were incredible! My mind was well and truly blown!

Battleship - 4.5/10 - The special affects were great, but at times, the film felt like a s**** film. It had almost a comic strip feel, which at points was good, but at points made it look stupid. If they had made this film like War of the Worlds, this film could have been one of the greats. But in the end was silly. Was surprised to see Liam Neeson in this film...

Liam will appear in anything now. Surprised he isn't doing more voiceovers. Well worth watching these:

Watched "Untouchable" last night, a rather enjoyable light hearted foreign language film. Give this a couple of years and Hollywood will remake it and ruin it with Tom Cruise and Chris Rock

Into The Woods. Not sure if there is much of an audience for it on here but, for what it's worth, really enjoyed it. Obviously don't go if you don't like musicals and probably not one for very young children. My two (8 and, just, 11) both really liked the intertwined Grimm fairy tales and the darker twist on the usual 'happy ever after' endings. For me, the biggest revelation was James Corden who I sometimes find irritating - good and personable in this, I thought.

Just spent an an afternoon/evening in the cinema

Taken 3: Ridiculous amount of plot holes, but somewhat entertaining. 6.5/10

Theory of Everything: Not really my sort of thing, but was enjoyable. 7/10

Exodus Gods + Kings: Very long (2 and a half hour), boring characters, skipped over some scenes that should've been longer (like the plagues) then dragged out scenes that could've easily been shortened. 4/10
