FIFA 10 vs. PES 2010

Looks like FIFA is going to batter PES again this year, they've implimented a 360 degree dribbling system for the new FIFA, meaning that the amount of turning directions is now limitless, as opposed to 8-way dribbling on any other football game ever made (including this years PES), they've also completely re-written the Manager Mode which now sounds class, added a new training mode with includes a new a 'Set-Piece Creator', and added loads of match play improvements, such as far more responsive and realistic trapping, improved animation physics, vastly more intelligent AI and more varied finishing, an improved advantage system (thank f**k), improved ball physics etc. etc.

Good additions, some of these were annoying not having last season

 

The fact that players that arent world class couldnt score from outside the box p1ssed me off.

The advantage rule was ok sometimes but a pain in the ar$e sometimes. I once (in an important FIFA tournament between mates might I add), was tackled, another one of my player picked up the ball (advantage was rightly given), shrugged off a tackle eventually and scored, but the ref pulls it back for a free-kick just outside the box.

 

What does it mean by Kit editing?

 

Thats mentioned earlier in the article therefore my guess is that for example after a couple of season you change the shirt layout, colour and accept bids for the sponsorship.

 

It looks like there is not much between the games for 2010. For game play pro evo has allways been better, but perhaps this year fifa could catch up. I think pes2009 is miles better then fife 09, but by the sounds of it. It seems like fife is making some much needed improvements.

I thought Pes was quite cr@p this year wasnt as fun as it normally is. i thoguht that fifa 09 was top notch

The best way to play football games is against you're friends. I have played both games with friends and pro evo is much more fun and has better gameplay.

 

I agree this was the case a couple of years ago, but in my eyes if anything PES has moved backwards with 2008 and 2009, FIFA 08 just get its neck in front that year, and I think FIFA 09 blew PES out of the water, it's a very, very poor game.

 

This'll also be the last FIFA game on the PS2 :'(

 

What I was thinking

 

I was always a PES fan, and still am at heart, so will be trying both games next year, but i had Fifa 09 because it was pretty revolutionary, and changed my view of it completely, so it will be likely that i will buy Fifa again this year. The improvements also sound top-notch

 

Does this mean we can choose who goes up for corners and we can get the centre backs off the posts when defending them

 

Pes was better, i hate the set pieces e.g. corners considering you cant really score from them, On fifa its really rare to score from out side the area but i do like the ultimate team on fifa which you have to buy seperatley but im wandering ifany of you have it?

Really ? I'd been a hardcore PES fan before the 09 versions, i purchased PES a week or so before FIFA, as soon as i played FIFA for the first time, PES hasn't left the shelf because it's shyte. Will be buying FIFA again this year.

Like Nath said, that was certainly the case a few versions ago (such as PES 6) but it just hasn't been the same. FIFA has grown up ALOT over the past couple of years and this has put it back in front of PES.

 

I have UT and agree that its probalby the best part of fifa, but I do think that fifa is better than pes, I preffered pes until this year because fifa 09 is amazing and i find pes to unrealistic in the way that you dribble and can turn at ridiculas angles whilst sprinting.

 

I think the biggest jump in fifa was when they started putting it on xbox 360

 

Pleased to hear throw ins have been fixed on FIFA, they were comically shyte on 09.

 

When do both games come out?

I like the idea of an improved custom player system. Should be even better than 09.

 

I'll definitely get FIFA 10.

I've always played FIFA and despite a few trials with PES, FIFA to me has always been the best.

I prefer the more realitic gameplay on FIFA.

 

Anyone know when FM2010 comes out?

Pes graphics look amazing, it looks just like a photo

 

Fifa sounds quality. PES is ****, I like to play with Watford and the only game that allows that is Fifa.

 

Its seems people think that fifa is better then pes. I'm going to start a season with watford on fifa and see how i get on. I have played a bit and its not as good when i play against the computer instead of a friend. Also when im making forwards run and the defender gets close i try to turn and pass and everytime i get tackled. It was be nice if players like Rasiak could hold the ball up better.
