Hi all, I have posted a brief message elsewhere but wanted to say something a bit more in a standalone post. Not because I want the attention or the focus - but because I know people like Rookery Dad (and others) suddenly disappeared and many wondered what happened and were concerned about them. I have spent time away from the forum in recent weeks and months - enforced by others admittedly, and I have my own thoughts on how legitimate and fair that was(!) - but ultimately, it has allowed me to realise that I just don't have the urge to contribute anymore. That is not to say I won't....but it is to say it will be sparingly, if at all. I may lurk in the background or pop in for a game of Werewolf, and I may throw in the odd bit of news I hear. I will support Watford Football Club until my last breath - but I have fallen out of love with 'supporting' Watford Football Club and all that comes with it. Whether that be match days, shoutbox afternoons, transfer rumours, posting on this forum, duelling with LR/TuT/ or creating BwO side stories with @GoingDown , @wfcmoog ,@Jumbolina etc. I was invited to go along to the Fan Forum during my exile and whilst I genuinely could not make it, I also felt zero desire to go. And everything I have read and heard since from that evening only reinforces why my passion has fallen so far. However, I was at Glastonbury on Sunday evening, and as much as EJ didn't mention or refer to us (and as much as I don't believe he will have any meaningful input going forward), it did give me hope that we may get back to being a club I can be proud of and get enthused by. Because we had it once. The reality is much of my time is spent living and working abroad. And having a young family. And as stupid as it sounds, not being on the forum for even 30 mins a day or whatever has made me realise, that is 30 mins I could be spending on them or something that gives me a better sense of enjoyment. But as I say, I won't be a stranger. I am not flouncing! My thanks to the mods and forum owner for the work they put in - and to my many sparring partners over the months and years...I'll be watching! Enjoy your summer all, COYH
Big shame you’re leaving, at the very least we could do with your input on Glastonbury in the things you hate thread.
I fully respect your decision Burnsy and I am sorry you have felt it has come to this. But, I feel your reasons for leaving are more than justified. You have a young family and the rest of your life ahead of you, why spend that bickering with a load of IP addresses? It's a mature decision and one I very much doubt came to you on the flip of a coin. From a personal standpoint, I have always had respect for you especially when I first joined as you helped me out a fair bit back in the day. People's lives are full of ups and downs and emotionally, not everyone can juggle everything life throws at you, including being a member of a social football forum. I know you got into a few arguments and you were not everyone's flavour of the month, but that was you and everyone has a different view on things that may not fall in line with another persons point of view. Thank you for being a part of this community for as long as you have, and you are welcome back to post anytime you feel like it. If you decide to leave full stop, please send one of us a PM. However, I hope you continue to come back now and then, even if you just lurk. But as I said earlier, your reasons are honest and right. I wish you all the best for the future Burnsy. Anybody feeling this way seems understandable at this point; I can't say I haven't felt less enthusiasm than at any point in at least a decade over the past few weeks-months. Sorry it's gone this way in a cosmic sense, but it sounds like a pretty hopeful realisation for you in truth, at the same time. Maybe I'd do a similar thing if I had equally worthwhile other things to do with my time!
@Burnsy is the only active member with more likes than posts, this show what high esteem he is held in and how much people have agreed and appreciated his posts and views, you will be missed Burnsy!
Is anyone circulating a card ? Are we chipping in a fiver each .... too much ?? Will miss your ITK titbits and empassioned defence of your incorrect viewpoint !
I think it's a sad day when a passionate supporter falls out of love with what he's been doing, and at the same time, I think one of a father's prime duties is to be there for his young family. At the end of the day, there are things more important than WFC.

Respect your choice for stepping back from the forum Burnsy. No-one can deny that you contributed a lot to this forum over the past years, and you will be missed by all those that agreed and disagreed with you on all things Watford.. Good luck.
There's a lot more to life than football and following a club although for some that is what it's about and who are we to argue with that. We all have our own personal foibles and things we enjoy and how we spend our time is down to us. To Burnsy all the best for the future and to your family and young ones. Don't be a stranger and pop in from time to time. Hopefully if you haven't lost the passion entirely you'll be able to rekindle it at some point and if you haven't already persuade your little ones the future is yellow. Do take care and God bless.
Ok I’m looking at number of likes in the members section of significant high posters, who have I missed?
There's a lot more than just the ten pages the forum will display. Vast majority of members who post very rarely will have more likes than posts, probably at ratio of about 3 to 1.

The counts are wrong in many case anyway. On one of the forum upgrades a while back the post counts got preserved but the likes didn't, so anyone with an account over a certain age kept their post count and had their likes reset to 0.
40+ likes and some nice messages. Burnsy may well be a bit of a "marmite" member but it shows the level of love and gratitude he continues to earn around here. Nobody gets on with everyone, and people have their own voices about any topic, be that right or wrong in other people's eyes. A view of a poster is that persons and theirs alone. Burnsy may of got on some people's nerves, but he was/is a regular who had some valid points on football related topics and was always a plesant read. Ok now that sounds like an Obituary. I'll shut up now.
