I've got a question about these boards, it's probably an obvious one and I do apologise if it is. I notice under each users name there is a line that says for example 'trialist', 'reserve team player' etc etc, I presume this relates to the amount of posts the user has made? If so what are the boundaries between categories and how many are there? Thanks, I'm just curious as I've seen this on other boards before, but being ignorant of many things like this don't really understand it fully!
Depending on post count you move up a level. Next level is junior hornet, all the way up to international player, (that's many thousand away). Every step grants a few more privelages. EG junior hornets have access to an extra forum where we can discuss things like footy streams that I'd prefer not to be on view to casual passers by, and much more.
Not such a silly question, i can answer that to a degree as im sure admin is up to his eyes in it at the moment... There is a rating system and you can work your way up to world cup star or something like that dependant on the number of posts you make, up to 50 you are a trialist, you will notice i am a reserve team player as i have a high post count over 500 and will soon be a first team player when i reach 1000
That's cool cheers, a very good idea. It just shows how this board is not in the dark ages, like another board I once visited.....
I had to raise the post count to get into the Hornets Nest because we needed some breathing space. It's currently 200 posts, but I might change it to length of time here too. It's a privelage that needs to be earned.
I think you're right admin. I think lenght of time and or quality of posts should be taken into account.
Agreed, the levels were set when there was only a small number of us with accounts and it was therefore not as easy as it is now to get post counts up, now there over well in excess of 100 users post counts are going up fast so the incentive is gone pretty much, length of membership should be a consideration married with post count.
it's an interesting notion to have qualifications but since this site is clearly going to be the unofficial official wfc board the length of membership prior to all of us coming over isn't quite so relavent is it? i joined this board when i first heard of it back in september but when i came over yesterday couldn't remember my username because i only posted one message. (i recalled it later - 'keitheddy'sghost' - but that's beside the point) if seniority and access to special forums is based on length of membership then a lot of quality posters just joined will be excluded.
I understand your view however not all members will posts "quality" posts in order to get their counts up. i have been on since the first week and have literally only just gained access to one of the places a few days ago. I found it fun and something to look forward to spending the time trying to gain acess and felt some kind of an achievement when i finally managed it, i feel it just adds to what is a truly great and well worked forum.
To be brutally honest it's more to catch out morons and undesirables before they get to a point where they get more privelages. Otherwise I have to agree with most of what you say. Due to the nature of what's happened this week, everyone's post count will be triple the normal IMO. I'll not impose a time limit for now, but leave at the raised post count, and see how it goes. (the username keitheddy'sghost, is that now redundant?)
345tcrew. Awful username I know, but once I got a few posts under my belt I couldn't be bothered to start again with a new name. I think this one would be better off in the Luther Blissett steam room I'll move it in a few minutes.
I did on the old boards, made a stupid newbie move and was totally thrashed, now I'll see how the game pans out and look for a weakness before moving in.
Come on Admin, you know me from the old boards, I demand an elevation into the only class I know, can I bribe you with my personal stories of Preston away and my long haired lover from Liverpool.
