Nah I wasn't overly worried. I personally think our squad is good enough for mid table and probably was last year too. I firmly believe that our issues are down to injuries and motivation, and think that with a full preseason Gracia should be able to combat both. I like him as a manager and rate our squad on paper. I would have liked another centre back but was not hugely worried after the extortionate window.
You can"t extrapolate from one game. Imjuries, suspensions, changes of team shape to deal with different opponents.... And we might be absolute **** next time out!
True, but I'd love to see us play 4-4-2 away as much as possible this season. Especially this sunday against dyche's cloggers.
Oooh, this’ll make your toes curl. The Shamen: ‘E’s Capoue, ‘E’s Capoue ‘E’s Etienne Capoue Of course now the sun has gone he’ll probably revert to his usual form and we’ll not have to sign his name until April is out.
Just had an interview with him on 5live . Naturally asked him about that tackle last week - as you'd expect just shrugged it off - hardly going to say "Yes, I went to hack Zaha out of the game" although did say is he very quick. Sounded very positive about Gracia and looking to playing Spurs although just sees it another game. Spoke very well btw...not really heard Capoue before.
Got done for speeding. https://www.skysports.com/football/...mmoned-to-court-over-alleged-speeding-offence
@Stevohorn is the sweepstake winner! http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/speeding-top-footballer.55299/
He must have been going some, as I'd imagine if it was a minor speed infringement that someone at the club would have recommended that he did the speed awareness course or pay the fine and get points. He would only end up in court if he was going over 100, contested the offence or already has 9 points.
125 MPH.. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/ukne...g-wagon-on-the-m25/ar-BBRDBS8?ocid=spartanntp Apparently he was undertaking as well. Which i feel is quite fitting because those G wagons look a bit like hearses.
Imperious. Glad he’s the wrong side of 30, otherwise he’d almost certainly be moving on to a bigger club in the close season.
Agreed, absolutely immense today again . He was like a man possessed ! Was still considering who my pots was but that’s clinched it for me
He’s gone from being a very talented but lazy player who was not trusted by The Snake to being our most consistent midfielder. He has even recently captained the team. Since Javi has been here he looks like he loves football and has been indispensable and alongside Doucouré forms the best midfield I’ve seen at WFC for years. Definitely my POTs.
Bit worried at the end he might have got more than a booking but as people have said - excellent today once more. Hopefully we can get a decent replacement for Doucouré to play alongside Capoue next season.
Well the disguise didn't work well ! Capoue dropped or injured ? https://mobile.twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1180500013367119872?s=20
It would be interesting to see him play in the system played yesterday instead of Doucoure. As bad as Doucoure was it was better watching him than watching EC just play to me to you with the centre backs. If EC could play the ball forward as much as Doucoure, but with his normal pass completion it would be great.
I love this man. Has become Mr Reliable over the past couple of years with at least 7/10 performances in almost every single game. Quality on the ball and has developed a fantastic work ethic and combativeness for a player that used to be seen as a bit "luxury". Definitely one of the best central midfielders to play for us in my lifetime.
Thought he was fantastic today. Almost glided around the pitch with some incredible touches and interceptions
Agreed. Breaks the mould a bit too as when interviewed it’s clear he’s really not a man who gives much of a toss about football as a sport.
Based on overall contribution I’d say our best player since being back in the prem. Was incredible today! Would surely do a good job in a top 6 team. But hopefully he’ll stay underrated outside of Watford and happy here with us.
Fantastic player for us last two seasons. He's 31 though so it's only downward moves in terms of transfers from here.
For a while, he was so inconsistent, capable of real moments of class, but equally capable of being a passenger. The last couple of seasons, he’s been consistently excellent. It was clear he had supreme talent on the ball, but the biggest difference is his work rate and commitment. I love watching him glide around the pitch, conducting things, or sticking his foot in when necessary.
I've just read on an official club statement that Capoue has actually put in a transfer request and hence is not included in Vlads plans at all
