Was reduced to nothing more than a poacher role, a bit like Rajovic, but actually came up with the goods today. How long is he out for? Was able to get off the pitch himself so I'm hoping it's not too long
Ever since he has been back the performances have gone from hard working but poor to half arsed and shocking. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
TBF we hadn't won at home for ....I can't remember when and our away form, result wise was good, but performance wise ...not so . QPR, Blackburn, Preston , Hull all could have gone the other way.
He tried, but to say he was feeding off scraps in that first half with us pumping up long balls to him would be an understatement, in the end he took his goal really well, if he stays on the pitch even just a little bit longer (no doubt he still wouldn't have completed the 90), we win the game
Dennis at 20% fit over Rajovic and at 60% over Bayo seems about right to me after that hot mess of a shambles...
We are getting tired, there are a lot of players in that team who have played a lot of minutes of late, and those who have come back from injury haven't looked sharp. Besides, in the context of the season, we've played worse than that and come away with a result, first 25 minutes was still shocking, but between the first half substitutions and their goal, we had the better chances, I dare say if Dennis were on the end of any of those Rajovic chances we'd have won the game, probably quite comfortably
It's hard to impress as an attacking winger when the ball doesn't get played out of your own half as the defenders and goalie are playing to me to you, to me to you to me to oooops lost it.
The one time he and Asprilla combined we got a goal . I did notice one time Hamer tried to get Dennis with a long ball VI quickly told the former to calm down !
That is another really bad sign of a manager imho. If something isn't working then try it differently and perhaps you get a better output. Dennis has more chance of collecting the ball from the pass, holding it up and perhaps bringing others into play to create an attack. But the fact VI shut it down from the off tells me he has no time for players' using their instincts in a game that is about forethought and tactics. VI clearly got it wrong, Hamer knew this and it was probably why he is so livid post game.
Had mentioned something similar when he signed. It'd wither be cup lifting or titties in the breeze. Think the latter has happened.
A few times today, he tried to find a colleague by a little flick, a blind pass and a couple of back of the heal passes, hardly any of them found a team mate. Perhaps someone can tell him he needs to pass to player directly, our players aren’t clever enough to anticipate his flick- ons
Our fans will never take to a player like Dennis. Never forget this is the fan base who wanted Deulofeu benched more often than not.
He's been unfit beyond belief, then played while injured. A ridiculous signing, but I don't think he's terd. A fit Dennis is sensational.
His first touch was shocking on Saturday, so many little miscontrols, was like someone out the academy making their debut rather than a peak age loanee from the PL.
We're going to have to make the effort to bring him here again next season otherwise I'm struggling to see the point
Merely an observation. Results have continued to be poor but more alarmingly the work rate and team ethos seems to have disappeared at the same time that we signed a player the manager didn't want in the summer.
Is he? He was brilliant in the first half of his first season with us, but he was really poor second half of the season and has been really poor so far this season. He's played 40 odd games for us and been more bad than good.
