Drug habits

In my old age I don't do drugs anymore, not that it was ever my thing. I once put magic mushrooms in my housemates spag bol, that was comedy genius. But has anyone else ever used or contemplated any illegal substances?

 

They killed my brother, that kind of put me off them.

I agree and sympathise with all your points, I'm just recalling what happened last time we tried to have a drugs debate

Yup, there's a lot of youngsters come on here etc.etc. and from what I know these boards are the last place I'd look for sensible advice.

 

I'm partial to a couple of strong Nurofen the morning after a heavy beer session.

 

I'm highly allergic, one nurofen probably would kill me.

 

I've tried stuff in the past but nothing really had any noticeable effect on me. No point wasting money on things which don't do anything.

Drugs debates can create a good realistic insight for the inexperienced into the problems these cause.

 

I love a good drugs debate. In fact it's an issue I feel very strongly about. But last time we tried to have a sensible discussion it descended it nonsense (I was partly to blame, I was a bit of an idiot back then) and the thread got closed.

I think the problem is too many minors use this site, and you're unlikely to have a decent discussion about this issue with them floating about.

Once in primary school a friend of mine snorted some sherbet and got a nose bleed.

Nobody else think that basically the drugs debate comes down to, shouldn't you be able to ingest what ever you want to? The government can have a role in them, by taxing them, regulating them (i.e. make sure people sell what they claim to sell) and educating people on the potential harms and the serious risks many substances can cause (not least alcohol and tobacco)

I'm sure we must be allowed to discuss drugs that we drink, aren't we? The peddlars of that particular drug sponsor football, even though alcohol has been judged number 2 on the most dangerous drugs list in terms of deaths/injuries/addiction etc. by several studies.


Since WFC have the official hornet pub where you can drink some drugs, I hope they will also consider opening an official Dam-style coffee shop when marijuana is legalised.

They could call it the "Red and Mellow Lion".

 

I know someone who has spent a decent amount of money on weed in the past and swore blind that it doesn't have any impact whatsoever on him.

I know I was definitely inhaling it properly. Even other stuff than weed has done nothing. Still I don't mind trying new stuff just so long as I'm not paying.
