I'm hoping that AA was only involved due his knowledge of football club takeovers etc, but still his name being there is pretty disturbing. Still, not to worry as all done
Ok so I can now BA! Post no 601 on http://www.wfcforums.com/showthread.php?39365-Match-Pic&p=701472&highlight=#post701472
put it this way; it was ESSENTIAL that this takeover happened, the alternatives did not bear thinking about. andronikou has been involved for while, and his input has been very important.
How annoying that Sky Sports News just did a short bit about the deal and ended it by saying 'Watford fans have expressed concerns their club will become a feeder club for Udinese' ****ing WST
Yep, just about to post what Malteser did. Like the way the WST rep that came on here disappeared pretty smartish. They should be embarrassed. Nobs.
I know i`m not the only one but i am getting a bit irritated with people speaking on my behalf , this could be to the kids of today what EJ/GT was to people my age back in the day
Maybe we will become a feeder club. Maybe things won't be as good as we hope. Maybe in a year's time we will hate the Pozzos... BUT ISN'T IT EXCITING WE AT LEAST ARE GETTING THE CHANCE TO FIND OUT
Not that I care what supporters of other clubs think of us, but I bet the consensus is, "Watford eh? Tinpot little club, finally gets a break and their fans are complaining."
If they went onto our official club site to read the news for themselves, they'd still not be able to find it!
People tend to over think things at times like this. I think the vast majority of fans are very excited by the takeover. You only have to look at their track record for assurances. Of course they are Italian and they are primarily Udinese supporters. But they are trying to create something special and unique within football and we are part of it. We may soar like a rocket, or we may well be just a stepping stone for the Pozzo's, but I am certain about one thing. Our immediate future is assured, and it is more likely than not, we will be a very well run club that is on the up. Bassini had to go, believe me when I say Watford would not have survived another year of his tenure. He got out at the right time, and we can now look forward to a very bright future.
When you look at the success Granada CF had after their Pozzo takeover it only makes me more confident for the future. We have the lure of the PL though, and I can see us easily becoming more of an importance to the family than our Spanish sisters.
Someone has barricaded himself in to the clubs communication room and is refusing to come out, hence the delay in the Official announcement!!! I wonder who that might be
In fact, if we were in the PL and stayed there, likely more prifitable than the "mother club" Udinese.
I am not sure what has been most frustrating, the long wait for news if the takeover was happening, or the wait for an official announcement now that all the news channels are reporting the deal is done. Do we think the delay in an official announcement has anything to do with, payment of staff, manager, board members ??? A quick statement “confirming the deal is done, with details to follow” would be nice if they are not ready with full details.
We are old news now lol just turn on sky sports news at 3pm and we are not even on there head lines at the start of the round up lol
It just defeats the whole raison d'etre for the official website if, three hours after the news was announced on the tv etc, it's still not appeared there.
Can someone find out sky sports news email address so we can all bombard them with emails telling them we are not concerned about becoming a feeder club
To keep the theme of not many news updates going, even the Wobbly's shutting down this evening...for maintenance!
Very strange that there's still no official word from the club considering the Observer reported it over 5 hours ago and every major sports outlet has also now reported it.
New CEO Scott Duxbury has just held a meeting with members of staff at the club and stated all jobs at the club are safe including Dyches. Pozzos will invest long term in club and aim to be in prem in 2/3 years...
Andronikou: ‘Watford provide the Pozzos with a platform to introduce their formula to the UK’ 3:05pm Friday 29th June 2012 in Watford FC News One of the men who helped negotiate the takeover of Watford claims the club “provides the Pozzo football dynasty with a secure platform to introduce its successful formula to the UK”. The Watford Observer revealed this morning that the Pozzo family’s takeover of Watford had been completed. Giampaolo Pozzo, whose son Gino helps run his football operations, has owed Udinese since 1986 and took over Granada in 2009. Granada have climbed from the Spanish third division to La Liga since the Pozzos’ takeover, with the help of a host of Udinese loan players. And Andrew Andronikou, who advised the Hornets on the sale, said: "We are delighted to have ensured that Watford's immediate future is safe. "The family have a proven track record of building successful teams on the field, and balancing the books off it." Andronikou added: "This transaction is a significant one, as it provides the Pozzo football dynasty with a secure platform to introduce its successful formula to the UK." .
