Did Aidy play it badly

Has the vision cracked for Aidy? By throwing all his affection and admiration so publicly on Collins John, has he - entirely by himself - made sure that no one else will want to come. Did he play the market badly or are we unlucky yet again?

When John said no it was all over the press. So everyone knows that a 21 year old developing player with no prospect of playing a 1st team match the next 6 months would rather do that then join Watford. Putting all his eggs in one basket it seems he's made omelette rather than chicks and I honestly doubt we'll see another new player at Watford during this window - regardless of the Young-situation.

    PS. Sorry for double-posting.

We're bottom with little prospect of survival! thats the reason its hard to attract CJ (or any other player in the prem), as well as the potential interest from abroad. However, that wont be the reason players dont come. After all if your already in the championship come the end of the season you'll be no worse off, if you any lower than a few months in the prem and the championship football is'nt exactly a bad prospect either.

As for tactics, I'll not hide the fact that I dont think he plays the market well or even has a good eye for a player (bar one or two exceptions). How much control you have over how you play the market with so many competing agents out there, is a debate in itself.

You have made some very good points there, but unfortunatly I think it's one of those things that we are going to have to wait until the end of the month to see.

I can see it being a problem for other Premiership players, but lower league players (I would imagine) would jump at the change to play in the 'elite league.'

As Hoskins and Williamson shows. However, it will take time before we compete in this league with a team forged from the best from the lower leagues and our own recruits (See Reading Football Club).

bloody hell, its like we're jinxing everyone while we're at it.

I know a lot of people said we used up all our luck last season but this seasons bad luck appears to be attaching itself to just about everything connected with us.

I think we've signed enough strikers for now.... Hoskins, Ashikodi and Priskin need their chances whilst Theo Robinson is apparently bang on form at the moment.

How about once outstanding creative midfielder????

Not all footballers will be happy to sit in the Reserves on 20k a week but there are a few like John.
