Was tracking the commentary from BBC and the Wobby, and only saw the extended highlights, but one thing that seemed to stand out was how exposed we are with Sierralta at DM. He gave away three fouls within the first 10 minutes, was booked within 25 and gave away the freekick from which they scored. Understand that he may be slightly off the pace coming back from injury and not saying anything others haven't warned about before, but we are going to come undone relying on him in that position. We'll lose too many balls in vulnerable situations, give away too many fouls (and too often end up with 10 men) and leave the back-line overly exposed. It's good that he can step in to that position to cover of course and has done a reasonable enough job in the first couple of games but it's another thing to do it consistently over a 46-game season and against better opposition than QPR and Plymouth. Let's hope we can get enough points on the board between now and January then strengthen adequately.
Actually I agree with you without the right personnel it's a liability. However some teams play that way by training consistently to do so like Swansea with Grimes just in front of the defence. Not having a Hughes type in that role won't help us. Sierralta doesn't qualify.
Quite. Kayembe is a small amount of dirt that has attached itself to Doucoure’s boot. 0.5 for heavens sake.
Pozzos know what they're doing. They paralaccied, brought in a manager who's never finished a season anywhere, began a huge rebuild of the squad and they have Manga finding gems all over the world. We will be there or thereabouts for sure. The futures yellow!
Uff 13 days now without a match. Grr international breaks. Still, at least the sun is shining and we won’t all be fed up next weekend. Good morning everybody
I think a break is exactly what we need after the drama of Saturday! Jokes aside, an extra week on the training ground will surely do us some good
Yes! Do you know, to save us checking, how many players are away with their countries? I think Val mentioned we have a behind closed doors friendly next weekend. Hopefully we are given updates from it.
I wonder how many times you can repeat the same thing over and over again in one thread. You think we will struggle, we get it
We've looked decent at the back before this game and the conceded three Coventry had not conceded at home this season and we hadn't scored for ages and we get three Fabulous penalty save Brilliant goal from Martins Comical og New striker gets two Should have held on, could have won, could have lost, a decent point With a bit of luck we would have 3 or 4 more points this season and been top 10 Loads of effort and very entertaining. I'm enjoying this season more than last already Could we go down? Possibly Could we go up? Possibly but less likely We will we finish around mid table? Probably Will it be better than last season? Yes
If you concede a relegation battle is far more likely, then yes we are also in the hunt for the playoffs.
I'm not sure either is likely but if pushed I would say we are more likely to be lower mid table than higher but things can change. If we had a decent run without too many injuries and the new striker gets a decent amount of goals we could easily end up top 10 and then you never know. On the flip side as HB1 mentions every so often, if we get a lot of injuries we could be in trouble and may end nearer the bottom than is comfortable. Like most, I worry about the DM position as we have nobody capable of playing it to a good enough standard I'm just happy to see a team giving it's all at the moment
If any of the people saying we are going to get relegated fancy a wager on it I have £20 to bet against you, the first five to reply yes are locked in, £20 each person.
Some people seem so sure though, just asking them to put their money where their mouth is. Or is the fact they dont actually believe what they are saying and are just trying to troll people to fill what empty void they have in their lives?
I’m pretty sure if they think we will go down they’ll take the 16-1 rather than your mindless offer? Stop trying to rip people off. You seem certain we won’t go down so I’d like to get £10 at 100-1 with you it that’s ok? Or don’t you believe what you are saying and just trying to fill the empty void in your life?
I did go on Saturday and thought we were much better than last week. We didn’t dominate as much as Coventry were pressing us more than Blackburn did but we were much more clinical. The effort and desire is there which is all you can ask for. I thought Martins had a much better second half, to the point he was our best player- certainly our biggest threat. Rajovic is such an awkward number 9 but he looks like he will score a fair few goals. He’s a handful and puts himself about. He will come good I think I also see people blaming Bachmann for the own goal…. I’m not Bachmann’s biggest fan but that’s all on Hoedt. You shouldn’t be passing it like that without knowing where your goalkeeper is, no matter what. Without that I think we would have won. I usually rate Hoedt but he was dreadful We’ve at least got a game plan which is something we’ve been missing for a while. VI knows what he wants them to do and, for the most part, they look like they understand the instructions. I don’t think we will be mounting a play off charge but a top 10 finish is achievable I think.
There is a lot of difference between a straight £20 bet and what you are proposing though isnt there. Stop being a muppet and put your money on the table, straight £20 bet.
