Here we go, maybe... Prince Buster as Gangsters was a re-working of his Al Capone Long Shot Kick De Bucket, The Liquidator (uuurgh Chelsea!), Skinhead Moonstomp Stan Campbell
What an excellent post Halfwayline! I didn't know that about George E although I couldn't help returning in my mind to Blackadder III with Dorothy Wordsworth etc etc!
The playoffs aren't entirely done yet as teams drop points all the time in this league but we won't go on a winning run, which would be required.
I'd take A win. Any win. I'm not proud,I don't mind who we beat. Wen do we play Euro Disney Girls III team?
It’s going to be interesting how Sky pitch their pre-match coverage of this. Will they pick up on the fact that most Watford fans are furious with the club and team or not? I get the impression that the media generally are still of the mind that “Watford have some really good players. Why aren’t they doing better? Perhaps they will win 6 games in a row and still make the playoffs.”
With the several elephants in the room trumpeting right in your face (useless owner, revolving door of managers, a squad of overpaid, mercenary players who don't seem to care) you still choose to focus your whining on a tiny minority of home fans who clap.
Nice . Long Shot Kick The Bucket was The Pioneers ( who I jammed with once ) and Liquidator was Harry J All Stars
It is not a tiny minority of fans. I have been critical of of the other areas you mentioned in your post. My guess is that you are clapping, cheering and wanting a selfie at the end of home games. Good luck to you.
Dare I say this fixture does offer me some hope, Coventry are a club who have gone through some terrible terrible times, but have come through it the other side and are now battling to get back into the Prem...while I hope we don't go 50 years without a promotion like I believe they did(!), there is always light at the end of the tunnel
I haven’t found or read anyone who is happy with what is going on and I include bloggers and podcasters in that . They might not just express it as loudly or spend time on the forums or twist writing their frustrations. Sorry if I have missed anyone - sure you can point them out if so .
You can read the 'disbelievers' on this site. I suggest you read the WO comments section on Watford FC. Some of the comments on there have some still believing we can make the play offs and that we should be thankful for where we are right now. Of course, we all can't demonstrate. My frustration is that this has been coming for the past 4 seasons. Many could see it happening. Gino has dug himself a large hole. He is running a failing business which has very large business debts as well as money owed to him personally. He can see the writing on the wall, but right now he seems to wish to bury his head in the sand. The hire and fire, then hire and fire policy is not working and he is repeatedly making the same mistake. Next season is forecasted to be worst if there isn't a major change. This is one of the worst, if not the worst Watford side for many years. Options: ●Pozzo Family sell up completely or sell a major share ●Manga finds some low cost diamonds to sign ●We hire a coach and give him time to build ●Points deduction if we are found guilty regarding the Kamara and Martins transfer/loan deals ●Going into administration ●A dismal season in the Championship trying to survive ●Relegation to League One I am sure there are other options
I see Wealdstone took 400 fans to Notts County on Friday. I wonder if that many Hornets will make the trip to Cov
If it's still the Richo Arena, it can hold 3000 max cap. So that means 3000 banners, 3000 more boos and 3000 more singing "Your Not Fit To Wear The Shirt".
Gyokeres also one of the best strikers we've played against, from a neutral's perspective I can't speak highly enough of them
I get a feeling if we lose tomorrow afternoon, Wilder might get the axe. Maybe it's a little too soon in his tenure but clearly the fans' are not happy right now but that's not all on him alone. Sure, the fact he continues to play the same group each week who are badly under-preforming isn't helping his cause. What I would like to see tomorrow is a mix of youth and experience. Perhaps similar to the side we put out at Reading in the Cup? We'll still probably lose, but I can almost guarantee they will put on a much hungrier performance than our usual lot.
Problem for him like the others is that the playing group is limited. Really not that much competition and those that are there cannot be bothered. It's such an entrenched attitude that it will only be solved by wholesale removal. I'd rather see someone like Adeyemo who has a point to prove than Assombalonga for instance.
Granted, you can't underestimate how mental Gino is, but I don't really see what's to be gained by getting rid of Wilder now, I think even he would have realise getting playoffs was a long shot, surely they'll just do what they did last season with Hodgson and keep him in place but scout for a manager for next season
