Fulham well on top v Bournemouth but not scored thanks to some great defending and they probably could have had a penalty.

I can see why Bournemouth always do well when there's no VAR. Horrible team.

    Bournemouth 1/0 up.

8 seconds in to the 2nd half !

    Must be a record ?

Hate to say it but it was a very well worked goal by muff. Straight off the training ground by the looks of it

Caught Flam totally cold at the start of the 2nd half.

1-1. Great goal for Flam. Totally deserved.

Bizarrely the goal seems to have killed Fulham’s momentum.

Totally. It was like "job done" and they took their foot off the pedal. They could and should have won that.

Just caught the QPR v Stoke game. Blimey, I thought QPR under Warburton were supposed to be promotion contenders. Not on that evidence. Still plenty of laughs raised, Charlie 'It's a complete joke' Austin lived up to his catchphrase with an abject penalty miss (ho, ho) and super sub Andre came on to much home anticipation to perform as an experienced Premiership striker (giggle). His mis-controlling and inability to shoot properly was on show yet again. I mean why did we even consider him as a viable option at that price...what on earth were we thinking back then? Still difficult to fathom the lack of thought of our then recruitment team, sigh.

Mind you, I know Wilmot's hairstyle was getting out of hand with us but he's taken it to the next level at Stoke. I feel I'm able to comment from a position of strength given my second job as a poster boy for the Happy Egg Co!!

Another goal for Troy, fair play to him, seems to be having a good spell.

Well that scoreline somewhat cheered me up.

    Muff 0 BR 2

Looks like their grip on the top two is slipping.

Though it won’t be so good for us if we go down and they’re still there! Rather that though than them taking our place.

Their fans seem to be complaining they don’t do the dark arts other teams do.

Have their players forgotten what to do since Howe and co left ?

I see QPR have had to call their game off tomorrow night due to COVID.

Has Andre been hosting again ?

This is one thing I don't miss about the Championship, dropped points in low scoring games at crap sides.

I have to say the standard in the Championship is dog turd. I watched a little bit of the Barnsley vs West Brom game last night and it severely lacked quality.
I am currently watching Middlesbrough vs Bournemouth and again if I didnt know the teams playing I would think that it was a league 1 game.

Good weekend for Fulham so far.

Bournemouth really are going off the rails .

Only one win in eight for Bournemouth they looked like they would be well out of it a few weeks back.

Really tough to watch this happening to them.

Bournemouth had a similarly bad run at the start of the season they got promoted, but they don't seem to have anything like the firepower they had so here's hoping.

Is there some sort of equivalent of Championship parachute payments in League 1? Yet again Rotherham and Wigan (despite nearly going down to League 2 last season) are up there, as are Wycombe, when I thought they'd overachieved in getting promotion and would do well to even finish top half.

Think there is some sort of payment .

Rotherham really are a yo yo side though and Wigan got taken over so have had money to spend.

Yes, there are parachute payments between all the EFL leagues and from L2 into the National League. Makes the EFL’s pearl-clutching horror at them all the more hypocritical.

Sounds a bit like us getting taken over again after spending a number of years in the top flight, twenty or so years after the first take over - Dave Whelan who was the first to really put the club on the map bought Wigan in 1995, whilst Elton took over in 1976 and again in 1997 when we were likewise in the doldrums of the third tier.

Time will tell though whether Al-Hammad will have the same effect and whether he's as emotionally invested in the club as Whelan was.

Yes they will hope he is in it for the long haul and won’t suddenly give it up leaving Wigan in trouble.

Speaking of owners are the Venkey’s still at Blackburn ?

If so the Cardiff bloke Vincent Tan they don’t seem to attract the headlines they once did !

Anyone get the feeling that Fulham are being found out, 4 draws and a defeat in their last 5 games.

I see football in wales has to be behind closed doors now. Seems odd that Cardiff and Swansea will be operating under different conditions to Bristol City and the other English clubs. Does it help or hinder them?

Thought I'd mention this here rather than create a new thread for it - Oldham Athletic, founder members of the Premier League while spending 23 proud years in the top two divisions and having some great runs in the cup (notably getting to the 1990 League Cup final and being a 120th minute Mark Hughes volley from getting to their first FA Cup final in 1994) are now bottom of League 2 and looking like being the first former PL team to go out of the Football League after a massive dent to their survival chances from losing 3-1 at home to relegation rivals Scunthorpe. In stark contrast to us when we got relegated to the third tier just before them, they have never returned to the upper divisions and very rarely looked like doing so during their extremely long period in Division 2/League 1 and have been in gradual decline over the last 15 years - their plight and fall from grace has been enough to make the national press on more than one occasion.

Just found out our last encounter with them was in March 1998 during the Division 2 title-winning season, I thought we might have played them in one of the cups since.

Not Championship but seemed the best place to put it - seems like Charltons new owner is just as incompetent as their old one - hiring his son as Director of Analysis after working in football for just 2 months. What a slap in the face for all the actual football practitioners who have spent years trying to get roles like this.
