I think *Henry Bolton* is going to featuring *a lot* in the thread: https://twitter.com/RussInCheshire/status/1566108916735528967
Former UKIP leader who had the outright racist girlfriend who tweeted that Meghan Markle had ‘tainted’ the Royal Family. Even Henry recognised that UKIP was on its way to being the ‘British Nazi Party’. He’s being racist here under the cover of ‘it’s not traditional’. Should go by the name of Juan Kair.
A favourite of this genre is those who claim that when they last visited London it was unrecognisable. Which is odd, as the street layout hasn’t altered greatly since at least the Blitz.
Come on @Moose you are wiser than this MM is just another vessel being used to either deflect attention from the masses or used to divide the people . The couple of blokes who own the "newspapers" are playing us like idiots Wagatha ? Colleen or Becky Leave\Remain let's have a row over Hobson's choice Even Madeleine McCann divides opinion\people
Are newspapers that influential these days? Surely Facebook, twitter etc have more impact and mould the agenda to fit their owners world view
While the influence of actual physical, printed newspapers is diminishing daily because sales have declined to a near vanishing point, many newspapers have huge online reach. The Daily Mail and Guardian are two of the biggest news websites in the world. But more significant than that, newspapers still set the agenda for nearly all broadcast media because the first thing the production staff do is go through them and pick up the stories that will determine every single talking point on every single phone-in. It's why you get barking mad phone-ins based on nothing more than an idiotic a headline. "Do you think cyclists should be allowed to force feed French cheese to motorists at road junctions? Phone Jeremy Vine and honk your opinion now." TV news shows flash up the front pages and headlines throughout the day. The newspapers spoonfeed the agenda to TV and radio, who gobble it up happily. It probably explains why the most right-leaning papers are becoming every more hysterical and one-eyed and agendered in their 'coverage'. Out here in the real world it feels like literally no one cares about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, certainly not when compared to the conduct of Prince Andrew, and yet day-in, day-out the newspapers push their agenda, which gets picked up on the talking heads shows. It's worth doing your own audit of the papers and see how many times a right-wing paper (Mail, Express, Sun even Times/Sunday Times on a bad day) is presented prominently on TV or radio compared to a centrist or left-ish outlet. Likewise the talking heads who go on all the political and current affairs shows – keep an eye on where they're from.
I can't reiterate how apt (and prescient) I feel this statement is: https://twitter.com/CountBinface/status/1573416739408605185
I was very disappointed in the announcement yesterday, absolutely no money to abolish gender neutral toilets. I was in GBK the other night and had my own private room with a toilet sink and hand dryer. Excellent - I thought, just as I was a about to leave I spotted a sanitary bin in the corner and realised I was in a gender neutral toilet- who know who was in there before me? Man? Woman? Transexual? Goat? I couldn't stomach my burger and had to go home.
